Make me perfect in love I pray

God is constantly saying to His children to not be afraid. This includes not worrying.

It seems that there are over 100 scriptures in the Bible where we're told to not be afraid.

So, why do we worry? Why are we afraid?  For me, personally, I believe it's because I don't trust God and for this I confess my fears, worries, concerns, I repent, and now I ask God in the name of Jesus that by the power of the Holy Spirit I overcome fear with faith.

This morning I was led to the verse,  1 John  4:18:

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

I know I'm not made perfect in love and my heart was convicted accordingly.  Now, I'm praying most sincerely dear Lord, to make me perfect in love. I know the just shall live by faith. It takes a great deal of faith to believe that you will indeed make me perfect in love and perfect before you.  Doesn't it say in the Bible in Hebrews chapter 13:20-21 that God will make us perfect through Jesus Christ.  I've read this verse so many times. So today, Dear Lord Jesus MAKE ME PERFECT IN LOVE.  Your word teaches me that whoever keeps your word (keeps your commandments) that THE LOVE OF GOD IS PERFECTED IN HIM. Therefore, dear Lord help me, teach me to know and keep your word, to keep your commandments as you've instructed in the Holy Scriptures below:  Amen.

The Test of Knowing Him

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Seeing God Through Love

12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

The Consummation of Love

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him[a] because He first loved us.

Obedience by Faith

20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can[b] he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves Godmust love his brother also.  (taken from biblegateway.com 1 John 2:3-5; 1 John 4:8-13, 16-21) KJV
