Psalms 113 Welcome to 2013 by Pastor Riley a must read for the saints
Psalm 113
Welcome to 2013!
By
Pastor F. M. Riley
December
31, 2012
“Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the
name of the Lord.”
Blessed be the name of the Lord from
this time forth and for evermore.”
From the rising of the Sun unto the going
down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.”
Psalm 113:1-3
Introduction
Those
of our readers who have read my series of Bible studies on the Psalms
entitled “What is Wrong with
God’s Time Line? already understand the correlation between each of the Psalms
and the years of the 20th and 21st centuries of the same
number. Those readers who have not read
this series of studies need only request them and they will be sent to
you. There is no charge for the studies
as all of my Bible studies are sent out free to all who request them.
Psalm
113 correlates with the year, 2013.
By a careful study of this Psalm serious Bible believers can
discern some of what this new year is
going to bring upon New Covenant believers, and upon Israel and the Jewish
people. This is the subject matter
which I will be dealing with in this Bible study. Join us for an enlightening study, which I
hope will be a blessing and encouragement to all true New Covenant believers…….
For
all true believers, and for
those believing Jewish people whom the Lord God has blessed with spiritual
discernment, this coming year of 2013 should be a year beginning with…..
Praise for
the Lord
Why? Because it will be the year
of transition for both New Covenant believers and for presently unbelieving
Israel and the Jewish people. This is clearly
set forth in 113:1-2, “Praise ye the Lord.
Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this
time forth and forever more.” In
this 2nd verse is a clearly stated “time marker.” Remember that “God that made the world and all
things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth…….hath determined the
times before appointed…..,” Acts 17:24-26.
Here in Psalm 113:2 is one of those
“appointed times.”
For
the past 6,000 years since the fall of Adam, the name of the Lord God has been
reviled, slandered, mocked, ridiculed, despised, and used as a filthy curse
word by the wicked God hating, Christ rejecting lost world. The wicked have defiled and dragged the
precious name of the Lord through the immoral slime of this lost, wicked, sin
cursed world in every conceivable way imaginable. However, in this coming year of 2013 that is
all going to change. The inspired
Psalmist clearly states that the name of the Lord shall be “blessed…..from this time
forth and for evermore.” No,
this does not mean that the unbelieving wicked are all going to turn to
the Lord in repentance and faith. What
it does mean is that the Lord God Himself is going to do such works in the
earth, that “from this time forth” His name shall be constantly praised by
His
1
people, both Christians and Jews, and even the wicked will be made to speak of the
Lord God with respect, even if with fear and trembling. That this will be a world wide change is seen
from 113:3,
which explicitly points out that the Lord’s name will be praised from “the
rising of the Sun” [the east]
“unto
the going down of the same” [the
west]. There are numerous
prophecies in God’s Word which sets forth the reasons why this change will be
absolutely certain, but I do not have time nor space to examine these many
prophecies in this study. Our readers
can look up the prophecies and study them for themselves.
The Position
and Power of the Lord
In
the next three Scriptures, 113:4-6, the Psalmist sets forth the
exalted position and power of the Lord God.
Verse 4 makes it clear that the Lord God looks down upon the earth
from His position “high above all nations,” so high that His glory is even “above
the heavens.” Verse 5
then confirms that the dwelling place of the Lord is “on high.” How high? So high above the earth and even above the
heavens that 113:6 states that the Lord “humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in the heaven, and in the earth.”
Wow!
Yet
some unbelieving, wicked, lost people today choose to deny that Almighty God
even exists. All I can say is that such people are in for a sad, sudden,
awakening, and their awakening is going to begin in 2013! The awakening of unbelieving humanity will
then continue for the next seven years until they either receive Christ as
their own personal Savior, or are destroyed off the face of the earth, Psalm
37; 104:35; Isaiah 13:9; 66:16; Jeremiah 25:32-33. And just what work of the Lord is it
that is going to begin this awakening?
I’m so glad you asked…….
The
Resurrection of New Covenant Believers
In
the first half of Psalm 113:7, the Psalmist
in speaking of the Lord God, explicitly states, “He raiseth
up the poor out of the dust…..” What
an amazing statement occurring in the 113th Psalm which
correlates with 2013. Let’s
examine this statement in detail…..
The
Hebrew word translated as “raiseth up” in this Scripture is
the word, “qum.” This Hebrew word literally means, “to arise; to rise up; to be raised up; to
be lifted up; to stand up; to get up; to rise and go forth.” See Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon,
pages 727-728, Strong’s No. 6965. The
definition of this word, along with the statement made in the Scripture, and
the context in which it is made, makes it very clear that this Scripture is a
prophecy of a resurrection occurring at
some point of time during the year, 2013. However, this conclusion is not based on the
definition of just this one word. There
is more…..
Notice the words “out of the dust.” These English words are translated
from the Hebrew word, “apar.” This Hebrew word literally means, “dust; earth; ground; soil in any
form.” See Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee
Lexicon, pages 645-646, Strong’s No. 6083.
So the Scripture is actually saying in the Hebrew text, “He [the Lord God] raiseth up the poor out of the
ground or soil of the earth…” Any
reader willing to deal honestly with the Scriptures can see for themselves that
this is then speaking of a resurrection taking place during 2013. But there is still yet more to the
matter. Who is it then that is going to
be resurrected?
The
Scripture actually says, “He raiseth up the poor out of the
dust…” So let’s look up the
word “poor”
and see who it applies to. This Hebrew word translated as “poor”
is the word, “dal.” This word literally means “poor; needy; humble; weak; haggard;
scrawny; feeble; powerless.”
See Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon, page199,
Strong’s No. 1800. This Hebrew word
occurs 48 times in the Old Testament, and is repeatedly connected with deliverance
of the “poor” so that the “poor” are “kept
from” the wicked and “the hypocrite.” See Job 5:15-16, 20:4-10; 20:19; Psalm 41:1-2;
72:13; 82:3-4 and numerous similar Scriptures. In studying each of the
2
places in the Old Testament where this
particular Hebrew word is used, it certainly appears that it is speaking of the
pre-tribulation rapture of Gentile believers. But
if so, why are they referred to as the “poor”?
Consider the
economic situation that America and the whole world is facing RIGHT NOW! Folks, tomorrow [January 1, 2013] our U.S. economy is going over the so-called
“Fiscal cliff!” This doesn’t really
mean much to the mealy mouth politicians who are throwing the term around, for
they all draw fat salaries and are exempt from many of the regulations imposed
upon the general public. But it will
bitterly effect the common working man in this country, and throw the entire
nation into such poverty as we have never previously known in this country. The collapse of the U.S. economy will also
effect all of the nations and peoples of the whole world. Those in other countries all over the world
are already struggling under massive taxation, which leaves them hardly enough
income to survive on. In essence, the
entire world is going into a period of unparalleled poverty, such as modern
mankind has never previously known or experienced, and it is going to begin in
2013. Businesses will fail,
factories will close, and there will be multiplied millions of people
out of work. This will result in
rioting, looting, robbing, burning, raping, and killing on a scale that we
living in this country have never known or seen previously. The government will impose Martial Law and
imprison and bitterly oppress all who they deem to be “resisters.” Totally ignoring the fact that the
government will have caused the situation to begin with, the government will
rather present themselves as the “saviors” of the people in taking such brutal
actions against the people. Sic!
It
ought to be obvious to any reader that Bible believing Christians and Jews will
be singled out for bitter oppression and persecution, for it is we who have spiritual discernment who can see
and understand what the wicked world system is doing to the people. Therefore we will be “marked” by the PTB for
bitter persecution and even possible elimination in order to “keep us
quiet.”
Does
this depress some readers? It
shouldn’t! For this entire scenario is
not solely in the hands of the political leaders in the governments of the
world. Rather, the Lord God of Heaven
is still watching over His people, and knows full well what is
happening. Just as this Scripture
clearly states, He will “raise up [resurrect] the poor [New Covenant believers] out of the dust” and catch them
away to glory, just as He promised to do so long ago. See John 14:1-3, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1
Thessalonians 4:13-18, and Revelation 3:10. And our resurrection and rapture will
occur sometime in 2013, immediately before the beginning of the
seven year Tribulation period. Glory to
God! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation
22:20.
The
Redemption of Israel and the Jewish People
But what about the rest
of this 7th verse? Who is
being referred to where the Scripture
says,
“…and lifteth
the needy out of the dunghill;” 113:7?
Who are “the needy” in this Scripture?
The
Hebrew word translated as “needy” in this Scripture is the word,
“ebyon.”
This word literally means, “needy;
often as a class of persons with physical needs; regarded as being of low
status and little political power, with an associative meaning of being
oppressed and in misery.” See
Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon, page 5, Strong’s No. 34. This particular Hebrew word is used over and
over again in the Old Testament in reference to Israel and the Jewish people.
It is
Israel and the Jewish people who are the “needy” in this Scripture. Compare such passages as “Psalm 9:18, 12:5, 35:10, 37:14, 72:4,
72:12-13, 82:3-4, and numerous other similar passages
Notice that this Scripture explicitly states that the Lord God will “lift
up the needy out of the dunghill.” Folks,
it is a historical truth that the Muslim nations around Israel have been
“crapping on” Israel and the Jewish people since the day Israel was
re-established as a nation in 1948, but especially since Israel regained their
holy city of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount in
3
the Six Day war in 1967. Today as I write, Israel is totally
surrounded by their wicked Muslim
enemies whose fervent desire is to totally
destroy the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. From the human viewpoint, Israel’s situation
looks almost hopeless, and Israel is standing in dire “need” of some help. I urge our readers to pray for Israel, but
don’t despair over them. You see, the “crapping on” Israel by the wicked
Muslims, and others, is about to come to a screeching halt!
The
Scriptural Scenario….
On some “date” in this
coming year of 2013, the Lord Jesus Christ is going to suddenly come in
the air and with a mighty shout, He will resurrect and rapture all of His “poor”
New Covenant believers to glory,
1
Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 3:10. The resurrection and rapture alone
will “shake up” and change the whole world scene, both economically, and
morally. Whether some like to admit it
or not, it is honest, hard working, law abiding, tax paying, Bible believing
citizens of this country and other countries throughout the world who keep the
economy moving and who undergird humanity with a sense of moral values. When all true
believers are suddenly removed off the face of the earth, all peoples
left on the earth will enter into immediate economic collapse, and all sense of
morality will vanish from among men.
Read Micah 7:1-6 and Isaiah 57:1-2 for an inspired
description of what it will be like on the earth immediately following the
resurrection and rapture of all true New Covenant believers from off the
earth.
Yet Immediately
after the resurrection and rapture has occurred and the Tribulation
period has begun, the Lord God will then remember Israel and the Jewish people,
who are already in dire “need” of His help. The
Lord God will then “lift up” 144,000 Jews from among the 12 tribes of Israel, Revelation
7:1-8. The 144,000 will be
saved, sealed, and sent forth to preach “the gospel of the kingdom” [Matthew 24:14] to every place on earth
where there is even one living soul to hear their message. Millions will turn to Christ during
the first half of the Tribulation under the preaching of the 144,000 and also
under the ministry of God’s “two witnesses,” Revelation 7:9-17; 11:3;
Joel 2:28-32.
Today the doors
are basically closed to Christian evangelism in almost all of the Muslim
countries in the world. It just plain
“tickles my funny bone” that the 144,000 will march boldly into the Muslim
countries which are presently closed to the Christian gospel, and preach the
way of salvation and the truth of God’s Word right in the streets and cities of
those countries, and no one will be able to stop them until their ministry has
been completed. Glory to God! Doesn’t the Lord God have a great sense of
humor? Praise His Holy Name!
Conclusion
Folks, the seven year
Tribulation will then take up part of 2013, all of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017,
2018, and part of 2019. Each of the Psalms
correlating with these same years lays out this scenario exactly. Study them carefully for yourself.
I have no
idea as to the “date” when the resurrection and rapture will occur in this
coming year, and I am not trying to search out a “date.” But this Scripture in Psalm 113:7 makes it absolutely
certain that our Lord is coming for His New Covenant believing church and people
on some “date” in 2013. Our “home going” is then very close. If you are a true believer then take heart, be encouraged, and “look
up, for our redemption draweth nigh,” Luke 21:28. If any reader is not a true believer then it is far past
time that you begin seriously seeking the Lord as your own personal
Savior. “Religion” is just ready to be
finished on this earth, and the “reality” of the God of Heaven is soon going
to break upon the hearts and minds of all peoples. There is a Heaven to be gained, and a Hell
to be shunned. Every reader will spend
eternity in one of these
4
two places.
Which one? John 14:6; Acts 4:12.
Following the rapture, the Lord God will then turn His attention back to
His chosen nation and people of Israel, bringing a chosen “remnant” through the
Tribulation while redeeming and purifying them in the process, Zechariah
13:8-9. Glory to God!
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
While 2013 may
bring upon us believers some hardships and afflictions before the Lord comes
for us, it will still be the most
wonderful year for God’s people in human history, for it is the year
we New Covenant believers are going “HOME!. Oh glory to God! Praise the Lord! This is the year we are going to meet our
Lord “face to face.” Are you ready for
this grand meeting? Read again 1
John 3:2-3 and Philippians 3:20-21 and let this
truth sink into your heart and soul. Hallelujah!
Praise the Lord!
