Why God Engineers our circumstances to test us FAR Beyond our Limit

Back in 2012 exactly 10 years ago I wrote this Blog in link about how Jesus requires "experimental" belief.

Why does Jesus require "experimental belief" (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

Over these past 10 years I've now fully come to realize in an even deeper way that are absolutely going to PRACTICE what we LEARN and LEARN by LIFE EXPERIMENTATION in EXPERIENCE.

If you take a moment to read the Blog I wrote it would help give you some background.

I know the reader finds in their personal walk with the Lord, as I've found, that we encounter one circumstance after another that is frankly way beyond the scope of our personal ability to deal with and successfully overcome.

An old Missionary once told me that God is patient and doesn't mind how many times he has to run us through the gauntlet to teach us a lesson that He wants us to learn.

Even on our best day with our absolute best is never good enough to get the job done in God's eyes.  God will always engineer our circumstances to ensure we're continually made aware of this on a daily basis.

Why a true Christian is continually tested, tried, and stretched beyond their limit is simple:

Unless we are tested, PROVED we can not be approved unto our Lord. Hard statement, cold facts. STUDY Romans 12:2. Focus on all the words especially the words PROVE - PERFECT Will of God.

See my study on defining STUDY and see that it does not mean simply reading something but work diligently in understanding the meaning in context.

Understand the Bible - From a Workman Approved unto God by His Grace (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

NOTE:  This is in our walk in gaining our rewards. Working out our SALVATION. Philippians 2:12. Working out our salvation simply means once we are saved we must strive lawfully to become mature Christians and walk worthy of our calling.

See study on this: The Cross. To LIVE We must DIE. Our death with Christ demands our process of SANCTIFICATION.

The Cross: To Live, We Must Die #Salvation #Sanctification (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

Please do NOT confuse this teaching with we need works to BE SAVED.  This is NOT referring to our worthiness to be saved. We are incapable of saving ourselves no matter how noble or good we are and in the same manner once we are saved we are just as incapable of producing good fruit for our Lord.

In my Navy career in the Submarine service, I learned that we had certain valves and fittings that required certification way beyond normal testing. We called these the SUBSAFE system certification and chain of custody from manufacturing to the end user. The "extreme" high caliber of metallurgy later had to go through rigorous unparalleled testing and scrutiny before it was deemed worthy for use. When receiving the valve would have to certify the paperwork to ensure that all the proper markings were attached to the valve with a SEAL OF APPROVAL.

We are exactly in the same circumstance.

If we could take a moment to look at some definitions:

Oxford English dictionary page 930 EXPERIENCE - to make trial or EXPERIMENT OF; to put to the test, try.  To ASCERTAIN (To prove by experiment or observation). To prove or reveal tested, trial APPROVED (confirm, attest, make good  AFFIRM (seal of approval)

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show THYSELF APPROVED unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. .....

EXPERIMENT The action of trying testing anything of putting it to proof test trial.

To make sure certain confident SUBJECTIVELY (certain of a fact - pertaining to a person - relating to one who is subject . relating to the thinking SUBJECT as to that which attributes. Subjective ideas have no root in actual experiencer but only in the faculty of PERCEPTION *existing in the mind only without REAL to correspond to."

In other words God takes us and refines us because without being properly tested we are of no use when we come unto attack of the enemy and his agents. Although these scriptures are prophecy for ISRAEL which will ultimately go through the Time of Jacob's trouble they have direct application to the Body of Christ: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.  Job 23:10 Other applicable scriptures:

 Isaiah 48:10, Deuteronomy 4:20, 1 Kings 8:51, Isaiah 27:9, Jeremiah 9:7, 11:4; Isaiah 1:25,26, Psalm 66:10.

Read Isaiah 53...

We're not alone. Our Kinsman Redeemer is with us and IN US and We are IN HIM NOW Spiritually

One of the GREAT PARADOXs of SCRIPTURE:  When I am WEAK I am STRONG.  Also be encouraged by the examples of the Old Testament and New Testament Saints.  Look at Paul's plea to remove the thorn from his side.  God says, NOPE...  My Strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:1-10

HOW do we prepare?  Pray, Pray, and Pray without ceasing Thessalonians 5:17 to be in HIS WILL and not OUR own. My admitting that our CARNAL MIND is enmity (mortal enemy)against GOD. Romans 8:7; We must DIE TO SELF...  OUR FLESH CAN NOT BE CONQUERED IT MUST DIE! Romans 6:6, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 12:1. By Faith NOW, Experience and BELIEVE by saying Galatians 2:20: May we read together in unison:

Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

King James

  1. Thank you, Brother, for making it clear why we need to be "stretched." Believers in so many other countries know this very clearly from experience, but sometimes not so much in the U.S. I also appreciate your using the word "sanctification," a word I don't hear so much anymore.

  2. We really do get so severely tested as believers. I have been through one intense trial after another, and God has been so faithful through them all. I am grateful for being my strength in weakness!
