The Power of Understanding Romans 7:25 King James Bible; Our Sanctification

Our Dilemma:

Romans 7:24

“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”

King James Version (KJV)

Our Solution:

Romans 7:25

“I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

King James Version (KJV)

We see the first and most important solution to our problem is JESUS CHRIST. It is through Jesus Christ and Him alone is our salvation and our sanctification. Once we are saved by Faith Alone and NOT of works, Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV which is BELIEVE that Jesus died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV

Second, we read that our mind plays a major role in this process and this is what I want to focus on here in this study.

The mind is the faculty of our soul that is essential in our sanctification process as Saints.

We Saints must never disengage our minds but rather discipline ourselves to fully engage our mind to test the spirits  1 John 4:1. This means actively reading scripture to see if scripture agrees with our thoughts whether they be from God or the enemy.

Here in Romans Paul is giving us another application of engaging our mind to understand what our spirit knows through revelation of God's word.  Remember, the spirit knows by communion with the Holy Spirit, through the faculty of our spirit called conscience, but our mind must diligently analyze and test by comparing with scripture.

Note: Read Watchman Nee's The Spiritual man for a deeper understanding of Man's Body Soul and Spirit according to scripture.  1968 Edition. Later translations have been corrupted.

Note:  Eastern mysticism and new age belief stresses the importance of emptying or clearing the mind in order to allow the spiritual awareness and meditation

See excerpt from a meditation website:

How To Empty Your Mind

#1.  Meditation

One of the most effective and well-known ways to clear your mind is through regular meditation.

With meditation, you’re able to remove yourself from every negative thought and focus on your breath or positive thinking. Through meditation, you’re able to think more clearly, which reduces the possibility of future stress.

The Child of God - The Saint knows this is DEMONIC.

So what does engaging the mind look like?

Let's find out:

So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God

WITH THE MIND - in context - an indepth knowledge of  G1097 to perceive from the soul. The Oxford English Dictionary mind (in this context) means consciousness, the faculty of memory, remembrance, to have, to hold, and keep in mind.
