The Main Audience of Paul’s Sermon to the Hebrews: THE HEBREWS as in the PILGRIMS, SOJOURNERS the outcasts passing through this world.  The entire unity of those who are The Called Out, The Set Apart, The ones who are in the covenant of Abraham and grafted into that covenant.

After Saul disobeyed God, God sent Samuel to find a new King

We find ourselves here where Saul has already attempted to kill David 3 times and this is the 2nd Time David has spared Saul's life. The first being in the cave in 1 Samuel 24:8-15.

2 Samuel 7:14:
We have to understand that David was only true King appointed over Israel and his kingdom shall be eternal. This of course is the type and shadow of Jesus Christ and we the Saints will RULE with Him.
The Kingdom of Solomon as was Saul are types and shadows of the Antichrist. All physical thrones, up to including modern Israel today sits in authority as only viceregents* and specifically in National Israel today as the evil tenant. See Study

See these detailed notes below, but in a nutshell, we see two things here. God is telling David that he (David) will not be building a Temple for Him (God), but rather Solomon will. This is huge because all the blood on David's hands being a warrior - 1 Chronicles 28:3. See the foreshadowing of Jesus Christ in the 2nd Advent of Revelation 19, Vengeance is mine saith the Lord Romans 12:19. And here in verse 4 of 1 Chronicles 28 we see David confirming the REAL Throne has been given to him for eternity - The Davidic Covenant foreshadowing JESUS CHRIST as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Eternal Rule on the Throne of David.
