29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

1. Edification (Building Up)

Meaning: To build up, strengthen, or construct. It comes from the Greek word oikodomē which literally means “to build a house.”
In context: Prophecy should strengthen and mature the Body of Christ, just as a builder adds to and reinforces a building.
It makes believers stronger in faith, more established in truth, and better equipped to walk with God.

Key related verse:
Ephesians 4:12 – “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”2. Exhortation (Encouragement to Action)

Meaning: To urge, encourage, or strongly appeal to someone to do what is right. It includes warning, stirring up, and calling to obedience.

3. Comfort (Consolation and Encouragement)

Meaning: To comfort, console, cheer up, and give strength in times of trouble or sorrow. From the Greek paramythia — to speak kindly and soothingly to someone.

If you dear Saint ever get the unction to speak to another then SPEAK. As one Sister in Christ told me recently, there will be times when the words come out of my mouth and I have not even thought about it or knew why. (subject to the prophets and testing the spirits, of course, in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14:32, 1 John 4:1 KJV. )

32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The following study shows what true Prophecy looks like and what false prophecy looks like.

In short a Prophet is someone who shares what God has shown them to share that which is subject to and is written in His Word.

Please note, I stated, "what God has shown ("to see, observe, perceive inpresent perfect tense - has happened and is happening. ) them to share that which is subject (, "person or thing under control or dominion of another," especially one who owes allegiance to a government or ruler;) to what is written" in His Word.

Several times throughout scripture Jesus said, "It IS WRITTEN."

What IS written”, the word “IS” carries powerful epistemological weight.

“IS” is the present tense of the verb “to be.”
It declares present, objective reality and truth.
Epistemologically, it means:

This is not something that was true in the past and might have changed.
This is not something that might be true depending on interpretation.
This IS true right now, and it remains true.
It is fixed, settled, and authoritative knowledge

Grammatical Nature of the Past Participle “Written”
- “Written” is a past participle — it describes an action that was completed in the past, but whose result continues into the present.
- It is used passively: the Scriptures have been written (by God through holy men), and they now exist as a finished product.
2. Epistemological Meaning of “Written”Epistemology asks: “How do we know what is true?” The past participle “written” answers this question with several powerful truths:A. Completed and Fixed Knowledge
“Written” declares that the revelation is finished.
God has already spoken. The act of revelation through the prophets and apostles is complete. What has been written is no longer in process — it is settled.
This stands in direct contrast to ongoing, open-ended “new revelations” that never finish.B. Objective and External Knowledge
“Written” means the truth now exists outside of any individual’s mind, feelings, dreams, or visions.
It is objective — you can point to it, read it, examine it, and compare other things to it.

C. Permanent and Authoritative
Once something is written under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, it carries permanent authority.
It cannot be edited, updated, or overridden by later experiences.

When a Saint receives a prophetic word we understand this never follows some tradition of man or vain deceipt or philosophical paradigm or pattern or plan. Colossians 2:8 KJV.

It happens spontaneously most frequently in a dream or vision or a significant unction (inspiration) from the Holy Ghost. We have a perfect example of when Jesus expalined in John 3:8 KJV:

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

The gift of Prophecy is still active and all saved persons operate at various levels depending on what and how God reveals his word to share. HIS WORD is key. We know in scripture that the purpose of this gift is primarily for the edification of the Saints and to encourage.

ONLY that which IS written and recorded in the FINAL AUTHORITY of the King James Bible is what can be claimed as "SUBJECT to the Prophets" and not Private Interpretation.

True Prophecy:

Brother Cameron Moshfegh shared a moving testimony as follows:

“I had a dream wherein I experienced a demonic attack which, however, was shut down right there.

There are two Scriptures that played a crucial part in it, that is 1 Corinthians 2:2 and Galatians 2:20, of which I was acutely aware of in that moment of the attack in my dream and in which my words I spoke were based on.

1 Corinthians 2:2

"For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."

Galatians 2:20

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I had a nightmare that appeared more real than dreams usually do. Usually in a dream I am helpless to do anything and am merely a spectator, observing the action. However, in this dream there was a moment where I experienced an attack in which I had an acute awareness of the situation and was able to willingly act by speaking words based in Scripture with an acute awareness and understanding of several Scriptures, which caused the situation within the dream to completely change and the attack to stop.

The following describes my dream:

I found myself in a strange place, which was like a dispersed settlement in a flat Mediterranean countryside including ancient temples and altars as well as the ruins thereof, where people went about their daily activities, and where terrible demonic powers were taking the men of the area through rituals that these demonic powers initiated and controlled. It was widely known among the people of the area that this was happening to the men in the area.

However, it was not known when and where exactly this would happen to a man. The ritual would suddenly begin on an individual man, and within several seconds of the start of such a ritual the man would disappear without any traces, which meant that he had been taken by the demonic powers.

I knew that I also was a target to be taken by these demonic powers through their ritual. But I too did not know when or where this would start to happen to me. I soon found myself standing outside before a type of altar and a ritual started to begin to take me.

I noticed the appearance of gloomy bluish and purplish lights encompassing me, markings on the ground beneath my feet illuminated in the same gloomy bluish and purplish lights and strange sounds like the sound of a wet crystal harp.

Note: I urge the reader to research on YouTube the sound of a wet crystal harp in order to fully appreciate the mood of this dream.

There was a very gloomy atmosphere about the entire situation and I knew that by my own power, I could neither stop, change or escape this situation.

I immediately was filled with the knowledge of great danger and the acute awareness and compulsion to act immediately as a reaction to an unrightful trespassing. I felt no fear even though I knew that if the ritual would succeed, I would be taken by these demonic powers. I immediately knew that when the demonic powers were putting a claim on me, they were trespassing the Lord's property.

Immediately, I started to say 'Jesus Christ' and I kept repeating “Jesus Christ” several times, over three times. As soon as I started to say “Jesus Christ” the gloomy atmosphere of the situation turned into a moment of glaring, extreme intensity and a clash of powers.

It was like when contrast increases and all perceivable features are intensified, but also at the same time glare up like in flames. And the clash of powers was like mountains clashing against each other. However, the ritual was still there. This all happened within a few seconds.

Then two Scriptures came to my mind, that being 1 Corinthians 2:2, and Galatians 2:20. With 1 Corinthians 2:2 and Galatians 2:20 I was also acutely aware of Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross, and that I’m saved by having believed in the Gospel, which is that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

I was acutely aware that I’m crucified with Jesus Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Jesus Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20), that Jesus Christ has bought me with His finished work on the cross and that I’m His property.

So I was also acutely aware that ultimately to what it really boils down to is that these demonic powers now would have to overcome Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross in order to successfully follow through with their claim on me and take me, and I was absolutely sure that neither they nor any other power could overcome this.

And in that moment in my dream I also had the acute awareness and understanding of 1 Corinthians 2:2, when Paul writes to the Corinthians that he knows nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Paul made that so clear, that despite his high academic education, it says, 'For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.', and I knew in that moment in my dream that this was also sufficient here.

With an acute awareness of all this, I said “Jesus Christ on the cross”, clearly knowing that the message contained all of the above Scriptures in all of their content, context and meaning, although I had not spoken all of the words. Immediately, when I said this, the entire ritual stopped and disappeared in an instant.

It became perfectly quiet. It was calm. I stood there still on the same spot and felt perfect, true peace and serenity. Then, the people nearby looked at me in astonishment and said: “How are you still here? We saw the ritual start on you, the strange lights engulfing you. Every man here who we saw the ritual start on disappeared. How can it be that you got away?”. I shortly woke up afterwards.

A true child of God - when given a vision or dream or an UNCTION * (spiritual inspiration to speak or write) will NEVER say one that is outside of DOCTRINE. PERIOD!

The Unction / Anointing of the Holy Ghost

1 John 2:20

“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”1 John 2:27

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

The Anointing Empowers Prophets and Prophecy

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
