When BEing is DOing

My sister in Christ, Deirdre Morris, sent me this thought the other day, " The LORD had told me several months ago, "I don't want you to do, I want you to be. Just be MY child". What an honor! How do we 'be'? 'Do' whatever HE tells you!
 "

This reminded me of the scripture in John 15:10:  "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
Definition of abide: remain or continue in a state... i.e., TO BE.

It then dawned on me that a baby in its mother's arms is not concerned with doing anything for the mother, but exists in a state as the mother's baby. The baby 'IS' (3rd person singular of the infinitive of the verb "To Be") the mother's child.  In this most natural state by its very existence or state of being, the child most naturally succumbs to the superior force of the mother desires.

My fervent prayer:  "Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, Please I pray, empower me in the Holy Spirit to 'BE' and not try to 'DO' things for you in my own flesh, but rather may my being in you, abiding in you, be my natural state of being like a baby in mother's arms, so that I may naturally succumb to your will in my life.  Amen."

  1. This reminds me of that Scripture: "Be still and know that I am God." And also: I Corinthians 4: 20: "For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power."

The Presence of God is more powerful than our actions--but our actions must be predicated on the Presence of God and obedience to the Lord.
