Here are the five worst predictions made about 2020 that failed to pan out.

1. The U.S. may warm 6 degrees F from 1990 to 2020

2. Oil will effectively run out by 2020

3) By 2020, no glaciers will be left on Mt. Kilimanjaro

4. A billion people will starve due to missing the tech revolution

5. By 2020, "millions will die" from climate change 


Titled “State of the Global Climate 2020,” the report finds that concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continued to climb in 2020, despite lockdowns imposed to slow the spread of COVID-19. 

Last year, the report notes, was the third warmest on record, worsening the melting of glaciers and sea ice, the acidification of the world’s oceans and the severity of wildfires and hurricanes. 

[Does this mean that emissions from cars and trucks really don't heat our planet?  There has been far less driving in the last year and yet the temps kept rising!  We stayed at home, restaurants and businesses were not open, and this was expected to at least be a good thing for the environment.]
U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres said in a foreword to the report. “We need to do more, and faster, now.”
At the summit, Biden is expected to announce that the U.S. will seek to cut emissions by at least 50 percent from 2005 levels. He will also pressure other world leaders to sign on to similar pledges, though those will be nonbinding.

    If you look at average global temperature rising and falling, it's cyclical. I haven't done detailed research into this, but it's clear, so I don't know when this upward cycle is likely to end. Thank you, brother, for actual facts from that report you mentioned, combined with the lockdowns that were supposed to reduce greenhouse gases.

    I seem to recall concerns back in the 1970s about another ice age on the way! What happened to that?!
