Jeremiah 7:16-34

King James Version

16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

The Paradox: Conflicting Commands on Prayer for the Sinful, Those in Authority, and Nations Under Judgment in the End Times

Conversely, the New Testament promotes universal prayer, specifically including authorities—who may be corrupt or opposed to God—as a means to live peaceably and advance the gospel:1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV): "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
First, let's understand clearly the context here: Paul is speaking that we may LEAD A QUIET and PEACEABLE LIFE .  Paul is not saying we must pray God bless evil and wickedness and that God will protect them.
