Essential Bible Study Lesson 101:
I received the following comment/s from Alexandria a few days ago to my YouTube Video and associated Blog study links above.
Quote:
Titus 3:9: "But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless."
Melchizedek is not Jesus
Hebrews 7:3: "He is without father or mother or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever." Focus on Jesus not Melchizedek, no Apostle used the name of Melchizedek or even said the name Melchizedek on in Hebrews speaking of linage and genealogies. But Melchizedek is not in Matthew 1 or any other listing of genealogy, it is only in Hebrews about the priesthood linage of Christ and it points and all points to Jesus not Melchizedek.
God Bless “
My response:
@Alexander07865 bible study in session. Let's learn the full meaning and context of Titus 3:9 KJV. Please go study further and get back to me. While you're at it go read Matthew Chapter 1 KJV and write out that geneology. Thank you for your comment but please study before blabbering. Your comment on Matthew 1 is astounding.
@ThirdHeavenTraveler Titus 3:9 is talking about what we shouldn't do. But people like you arguing about things that are not important.
Matthew 1 and all lists of genealogies from Old Testament to New does not mention Melchizedek.
Trust in Jesus not Melchizedek. God Bless
My response:
@Alexander07865 I am going to use your comments as a CASE STUDY. Please carefully read my comment, study it and respond ... Email me if you do not understand or have questions. My email is vietrandy@gmail.com. I would like to help you Sir.
I write this reproval not in anger, but in the spirit of iron sharpening iron (Proverbs 27:17 KJV), for we are commanded to "study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV).
Your comments have severely MANGLED and twisted the Scriptures using corrupted Bible translations and not understanding what you speak of and then attempt to teach...
I see through what you're doing through blind ignorance but I am concerned for others reading your foolish thoughts.
You have seemingly attempted to avoid the deeper truths revealed in God's Word.
Let me instruct you plainly, using the King James Version only, as the pure and preserved Word of God.First, consider the context of Titus 3, where Paul instructs Titus on matters of church order and godly living among the Cretans.
In Titus 3:9 KJV, it reads: "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain." Paul is warning against endless debates rooted in Jewish legalism—disputes over trivial matters like endless genealogical records used by false teachers to boast in fleshly heritage or to stir division, as seen among the Judaizers who troubled the early church (Titus 1:10-14 KJV speaks of "vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision" who subvert whole houses with such things).

This has nothing to do with studying the profound mysteries of Christ revealed in Scripture, such as in my blog and video, which explore the eternal priesthood and our inheritance in Him.
IT is painfully obvious you have not read the material or watched the video but probably just jumped on the title. Be honest Sir.
Your application of this verse is a misdirection, for my teaching is not a "foolish controversy" but a call to understand the depths of God's revelation, as we are exhorted to "search the scriptures" (John 5:39 KJV) and to grow in the knowledge of our Lord (2 Peter 3:18 KJV).
Like the Pharisees whom Jesus rebuked in Matthew 23:24 KJV—"Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel"—you have fixated on a minor point while missing the entire thrust of my message. You strain at the mention of Melchizedek's name, yet swallow the camel of ignoring the glorious truth it points to: the Order of Melchizedek, which is our inheritance as believers.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE MEAT OF THIS STUDY IS ABOUT THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK and our INHERITANCE in Christ.
As Psalm 110:4 KJV declares, "The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." This order is not bound by earthly lineages but is eternal, and through Christ, we are made "kings and priests unto God" (Revelation 1:6 KJV), partaking in this very priesthood.
My blog and video emphasize this as our spiritual heritage, not a quarrel about the law, but a revelation of Christ's supremacy and our position in Him.You miss the point overall, for the Order of Melchizedek is the heart of the matter—our inheritance in Christ's eternal priesthood, free from the limitations of Aaronic descent.
And to correct your claim: Paul does indeed talk about Melchizedek extensively, not just in passing, but across three chapters in Hebrews. In Hebrews 5:6 KJV, "As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." In Hebrews 5:10 KJV, "Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec." Hebrews 6 devotes verses 20: "Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec."
And Hebrews 7 expounds deeply, from verse 1: "For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God..." through to verse 25, comparing him as a type of Christ. Paul (as the author of Hebrews) uses Melchizedek not for genealogical quarrels, but to exalt Christ as our eternal High Priest.
I AM FOCUSED ON JESUS CHRIST, " ALEXANDER..." HELLO THIS IS THE POINT...
Furthermore, you err in using a corrupted translation, for the true Word in KJV renders Hebrews 7:3 as: "Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually."
LISTEN:::
This is not about mere "genealogy" as in record-keeping, but "descent"—in the Greek, agenealogetos, meaning without recorded pedigree or lineage, speaking in context to DNA bloodlines and hereditary succession.
The Oxford English Dictionary confirms "descent" as transmission by blood or heredity, aligning precisely with the priestly bloodlines under the law.
This matches Matthew 1 KJV, which uses "generation" (as in verse 1: "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ"), not as biological DNA from Joseph, but a legal lineage pointing to Christ's divine origin. I know you didn't read my blog, for it details this fully:
https://www.thethirdheaventraveler.com/2022/09/he-that-hath-seen-me-hath-seen-father.html.
WHY DO YOU THINK I KEEP SAYING IN THE VIDEO THAT YOU MUST READ THE BACKGROUND STUDIES???
There, I show how Matthew 1 breaks the chain at verse 16: "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ"—the passive "was born" and "of whom" (feminine, referring to Mary alone) prove no carnal bloodline from Joseph.Regarding Jesus Christ, who is the Seed promised to Eve in Genesis 3:15 KJV—"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel"—this is not the DNA bloodlines of Eve herself, but her hereditary lineage thereafter, fulfilled in Christ through the virgin birth, bypassing sinful human generation.
Finally, your confusion on conception stems from misunderstanding the KJV's precision. The word "womb" in passages like Luke 1:31 KJV—"And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS"—is never a mistranslation of "ovum" (egg). The Greek gastri means womb or uterus, the organ of gestation, accurately rendered as such.
No biblical scholarship confuses this; it's divine formation in the womb by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18 KJV: "she was found with child of the Holy Ghost"), ensuring Christ's sinless nature.
Matthew 1 supports Hebrews 7 exegetically: The genealogy is legal, not biological, establishing Jesus' Davidic right (Matthew 1:1-17 KJV) while the conception account (verses 18-25) reveals no carnal descent—"before they came together" excludes Joseph's seed, and "of the Holy Ghost" bypasses ordinary procreation.
This proves Hebrews 7:3's "without descent," for Christ's priesthood is "not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life" (Hebrews 7:16 KJV). Without the virgin birth, Jesus would inherit sin (Romans 5:12 KJV), but as the Last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV), formed sinless in the womb, He is "holy, harmless, undefiled" (Hebrews 7:26 KJV).
