“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

King James Version (KJV)

Brother James Van Patten shared this tragic dialogue with a Catholic woman that reminded me of my DOCTRINE Study.

The terror of understanding the word "CATECHIZED"

catechizedpast participlecatechized
  1. instruct (someone) in the principles of Christian
    religion
by means of question and answer, typically by using a catechism.

The word "catechized"  It primarily refers to the act of instructing someone, especially in religious principles, through a method of question and answer. This can involve using a catechism—a structured manual of doctrine presented in Q&A format. A secondary, broader meaning involves interrogating or questioning someone systematically.

Connecting Systematic Questioning/Interrogation to the BITE ModelSystematic questioning—repetitive, structured interrogation—serves as a tool in multiple BITE categories, particularly Thought Control and Emotion Control, but also intersecting with Behavior and Information. In high-control groups, it is not neutral inquiry but a mechanism to enforce conformity, extract confessions, induce guilt, and reprogram thinking. This mirrors how the secular "interrogation" sense of "catechize" can shift from education to coercion.Key connections:
  1. Thought Control via Confession and Self-Reporting:
    • A core tactic is requiring members to report thoughts, feelings, and "sins" to leaders or peers.
    • Ritualistic or public confession of sins (often through guided questioning) forces individuals to verbalize alignment with group doctrine.
    • No critical questions about the leader or policy are allowed; doubt is labeled "negative thinking."
    • Thought-stopping techniques (e.g., chanting, prayer) interrupt independent analysis.
    • Link to systematic questioning: Sessions resemble interrogations—leaders probe deeply into personal thoughts ("What doubts have you had? Why do you think that way?") to identify and "correct" deviance. This enforces black-and-white thinking ("us vs. them") and suppresses rationality, much like a rigorous cross-examination designed to elicit compliance rather than truth.
  2. Emotion Control via Guilt, Shame, and Phobia Indoctrination:
    • Questioning induces guilt/shame (e.g., "Why haven't you fully surrendered?").
    • Phobias are installed: irrational fears of leaving, questioning authority, or external influences (e.g., "Satan will possess you if you doubt").
    • Public shaming through group interrogations reinforces emotional dependency.
    • Link: Systematic probing manipulates emotions—extracting "confessions" creates vulnerability, followed by conditional forgiveness or punishment. This parallels coercive interrogation tactics that break down resistance through emotional exhaustion.
  3. Behavior Control:
    • Members must seek permission for decisions and report activities.
    • Questioning monitors compliance (e.g., "Did you follow the rules? Why not?").
    • This regulates physical reality and associations.
  4. Information Control:
    • Deception and restricted access to critics/former members.
    • Questioning discourages external inquiry ("Why would you read apostate material?").
In essence, systematic questioning in these contexts functions as a "catechizing" tool repurposed for control: the original religious Q&A format (designed for doctrinal instruction) is inverted into an interrogative process that polices thoughts, elicits self-incrimination, and reinforces the group's "map of reality." Hassan notes that such techniques disrupt authentic identity, creating a compliant "cult self."Examples in High-Control Groups found in ALL RELIGIOUS PRACTICES LIKE Catholicism and Protestant Religious orders:
  • Jehovah's Witnesses: Judicial committees involve intense questioning/confession sessions, leading to shunning if answers are unsatisfactory (strong Thought and Emotion Control).
  • Scientology: "Auditing" sessions are systematic interrogations using E-meters to probe "engrams" (past traumas), extracting confessions while controlling information.
  • Other groups (e.g., some fundamentalist sects): "Accountability" meetings or "discipling" involve leaders interrogating members' private lives.

Doctrine in the context of God's Word:  Oxford English Dictionary page 781:

Teaching, Instruction:   That which is taught as TRUE regarding a subject or discipline.

When we understand that doctrine in the context of God's Word literally means all of His word >2 Timothy 3:16 KJB > taught from the great teacher himself - Jesus Christ through His Spirit living IN us teaching us and guiding us in all truth > John 16:13 , we learn and teach the truth = Jesus Christ. It is Jesus Christ who teaches us by His WORD LOGOS and His Spirit (HIM IN US) Read Romans 8:9, 1 John 4:13 KJV and knowing we are in Him. Ephesians 2:6 KJV.

2 Timothy 3:17 and 4:1-4 applies and helps to read together with 2 Timothy 3:16 KJB .

So all perverted bibles will agree that their words are inspired but God has a sense of humor because when you get to Psalm 12:6,7 the wheels fall off. The New King James exposes itself as a fraud when it is compared to the King James in 2 Timothy 2:15, John 5:39, 2 Peter 3:18 KJV.

A true Child of God who reads and STUDIES the King James Bible is a Bible Scholar by definition.  Oxford English dictionary page 2665 states, "Scholar: One is is receiving or has received his instruction or training from a MASTER.

Deuteronomy 32:2

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:”

King James Version (KJV)

The Hebrew word for DOCTRINE in Deuteronomy 32:2 KJB is leqach leh' kakh learning, teaching, insight. instruction. Strongs H3948 from root H3947 meaning that which is received mentally (instruction) taken hold of, seized, accepted.

3948. leqach 9 X in the KJB In the sense of being received, learning speech.  Could it be said that when God speaks we have received and then must learn.

Look at this strange definition for doctrine found in the Oxford English dictionary page 2271 for "precept":  "To seize beforehand." * See Precept meaning extended.

This is harmonized with the Hebrew word leqach Strongs 3948 meaning "being received,"  being is a gerund verb tense meaning it "continuous" non ending.  This is harmonized with Psalm 118:89, 119:52, and certainly here in 1 Peter 1:25 KJB:

1 Peter 1:25

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”

King James Version (KJV)

HEAR To hear and to respond to what is heard, HEAR OBEY

One who HEARS AND OBEYS

The Teacher is the Lord Jesus Christ Who IS the WORD and who SPOKE the Word before Time and The Word will endure forever.  Amen!  Maranatha!

John 1:1

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

King James Version (KJV)

John 10:27

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

King James Version (KJV)

WHAT DOCTRINE IS NOT:

Robert M. Bowman defines doctrine as the “[c]ontent of teaching intended to be accepted and believed as truth.” 1
