Saints: Heads Up! Alien Lie to Hide the Rapture – Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.

 Luke 21:28 (KJV)

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."


Disclaimer:

 Luke 21 (like Matthew 24) primarily describes the sack of Jerusalem in 70 AD, then fast-forwards to the future Tribulation signs, the core encouragement to "look up" when these things begin to set up applies prophetically to watchful Saints today. As the stage is being prepared for the Tribulation, we look to our primary rapture promises in Scripture before the Tribulation:

  • 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (KJV) — "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump..."

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) — "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds..."

  • Revelation 12:5 (KJV) — "...and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne." (a type of the Church's pre-Trib catching away)

Those left behind are the Tribulation Saints :

the Tribulation saints are those who were initially left behind when the Church was raptured and who come to faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior during the Great Tribulation. This vast group, described in Revelation 7:9-11 KJV as "a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues," stands before the throne in white robes, praising God and the Lamb for salvation. Many of these believers are martyred for their faith, as they "overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death" (Revelation 12:11 KJV). Ultimately, they are gathered up as the elect when Christ returns visibly after the Tribulation, with angels sent "with a great sound of a trumpet" to "gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matthew 24:31 KJV), fulfilling God's promise of redemption even in the darkest hour.
