Day of Christ vs Day of the Lord
The DAY of CHRIST is referring to a period of time (DAY in the Oxford English dictionary page 650 as a period of time which something takes place) beginning with the RAPTURE - CATCHING AWAY of the Saints before the Tribulation and includes our period of time with Jesus Christ to receive our rewards at the Judgment Seat of Jesus BEMA Judgment and "ultimately" is fulfilled at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
The line in one view
Rapture / catching up Bema / blamelessness Second advent
1 Thess 4:16–17 Phil 1:10; 2:16 2 Thess 1:7–10
1 Cor 15:52–53 1 Cor 1:8 2 Thess 2:8
|______________ Day of Christ for the church ______________|- Left pole: we go to Him.
- Middle: we are confirmed, examined, rewarded.
- Right pole: He comes back with us; that day is manifested as complete.
This fulfills the completion of the following: Gathering / catching up — Day of Christ begins with the RAPTURE Catching UP of the Saints - Bema — saints rewarded in His presence and DURING THIS TIME - 7 YEAR TIMEFRAME -
Man of sin revealed on earth — Day of the Lord / 7 year tribulation interval -
Man of sin revealed on earth — Day of the Lord / 7 year tribulation interval -
and is finalized when the Lord is revealed from heaven with His saints and angels — Day of Christ consummated; man of sin destroyed.
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
“Day of Christ” (exact)
The exact three-word phrase “day of Christ” appears 3 times in the KJV, all in Paul:
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Lamentations 2:22 — “the day of the LORD’s anger”
2 Peter 3:12 — “the coming of the day of God”
Revelation 16:14 — “the battle of that great day of God Almighty”

Rev 12:5 is the church’s rapture
Contested — verb matches; identity of the man child is the debate
The Bema is not the Day of the Lord of Joel, Zephaniah, 1 Thessalonians 5:2, and 2 Peter 3:10. Those texts are destruction, darkness, thief-in-the-night wrath, melting elements. The Day of Christ / Bema texts are blamelessness, reward, rejoicing, saved “yet so as by fire.”Short answer to your question
Yes: those concerns sit in the same family as the Day of Christ verses and the catching-up verses.
No: Scripture does not print “Day of Christ = Bema = 1 Thessalonians 4.” That is a valid synthesis if you keep the church’s gathering distinct from the Day of the Lord wrath. The catching-up gets the church to Christ. The Bema is what happens when we are there. The Day of Christ is Paul’s name for that whole church-facing day, not for the world’s judgment.

day of christ begins at rapture and is consumated or fulfilled at the second advent when jesus comes back to earth with his saints (raptured saints and angels etc)
That is a coherent way to use “day” as a span, not a single clock-hour. The KJV never writes the sentence “the Day of Christ begins at the rapture and is fulfilled at the second advent,” but that is how many Pauline / pre-trib readings join the titles you have already stacked. The two ends of the spanBeginning — the church meets the Lord1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 — descent, resurrection, catching up, meet Him in the air
1 Corinthians 15:51–53 — changed in a moment, last trump
Philippians 1:6, 10; 2:16 — the work finished, saints found sincere, Paul able to rejoice
1 Corinthians 1:8 — confirmed unto the end, blameless
2 Corinthians 5:10 / 1 Corinthians 3:13–15 — judgment seat, reward or lossThat cluster is the church’s side of the day: gathered, changed, examined, rewarded.Consummation — He is revealed with the saints2 Thessalonians 1:7–10 — revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, flaming fire, glorified in His saints, admired in that day
2 Thessalonians 2:8 — the Wicked destroyed by the brightness of His coming
Colossians 3:4 — “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Jude 14 — “the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints”
Revelation 19:11–14 — armies in heaven follow HimThat cluster is the earth’s sight of the same Christ, now accompanied by the already-gathered saints. So your formula is:
Day of Christ = from the gathering unto Him → through the Bema → to the public appearing with the saints. The rapture opens that day for the church.
Day of the Lord is the judgment-stretch on the earth after that (your tribulation interval).
The second advent is where the two lines meet: the Day of Christ is consummated as He appears with the saints, and the Day of the Lord reaches its climax as He destroys the man of sin and judges the nations.
Or they feared the consummating end of that day (the appearing of ch. 1) had arrived.Your earlier anaphora still works if “that day” in 2:3 aims at the appearing-end of the Day of Christ (1:7–10), while the departure is the beginning.
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe… in that day.
The Day of Christ is the church’s day that begins when we are gathered unto Him (1 Thess 4:17; 2 Thess 2:1) and is manifested as complete when He comes to be glorified in His saints… in that day (2 Thess 1:10) and we appear with Him in glory (Col 3:4).That is as far as the KJV will carry the claim. The second advent is the public completion of that
It takes several scriptures in context to fully understand this. This requires a deep systematic reading and not just cherry picking one scripture alone.
Since my orignial study back in 2021 which I have gone back and corrected
I had mistakenly placed it all in one event - the Rapture, but each time I carefully studied 2 Thessalonians 2:2,3 KJV, I couldn't help but ask why are we seeing the Second Advent in 2 Thessalonians Chapter One verses 7 through 10?
I would ease that tension by understanding that the DEPARTURE - FALLING away was rock solid as the Rapture and so surely Paul was referring to the Tribulation when he said,"THAT DAY" which is what the Thessolonians were terrified that they had missed the Rapture and were in the Tribulation.
However, now clearly I understand that the anaphoric reference of "that" in that day is the Day of Christ which Paul most clearly describes in Chapter One verses 7 through 10 of 2 Thessalonians KJV.

The texts that carry the most weight for it are Philippians chapters 1–2 plus 1 Corinthians 1:8 at one end,

And 2 Thessalonians 1:7–10 plus 2:8 at the other, with 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 - 1 Corinthians 15:52-53 as the opening act as the RAPTURE - CATCHING UP

What the Day of Christ verses actually talk about
Look at the content of those verses, not only the title:Philippians 1:6 — God finishes the work He began “until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Philippians 2:16 — Paul hopes to rejoice in the day of Christ that he has not run or laboured in vain.

1 Corinthians 5:5 — the spirit saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
2 Corinthians 1:14 — mutual rejoicing in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Those verses are about the church’s completion, approval, and joy before Christ.
They are not written as wrath-on-the-nations texts. That is why they feel close to 1 Thessalonians 4 and 1 Corinthians 15.
The subject is the same people: the body of Christ.2 Thessalonians 2:2 is the odd one in that list. In the KJV it uses the same title, but the scare in the verse is that this day has already arrived.

The second advent completes it before the world.
Why “day” can bear that meaning In Scripture “day” is often a period with a character, not only a date.
Day of the Lord in Joel / Zephaniah / 1 Thessalonians 5 / 2 Peter 3 is darkness, wrath, shaking, then (in the prophets) restoration. It is treated as a stretch.
Day of Christ in Paul is light for the body: blameless, reward, rejoicing, not “destruction from the Almighty.”If you keep those two titles distinct, it is consistent to say:Day of Christ starts when the church leaves the earth.
Day of the Lord is the judgment-stretch on the earth after that (your tribulation interval).
The second advent is where the two lines meet: the Day of Christ is consummated as He appears with the saints, and the Day of the Lord reaches its climax as He destroys the man of sin and judges the nations.
How this sits with 2 Thessalonians 2:2
This is the verse that still needs a precise handle.
In the KJV they were shaken by the report that “the day of Christ is at hand” (Greek: is present). On a period reading you can say:They feared the whole Day of Christ package had already begun — meaning they had missed the gathering and were already in the earthly aftermath.
Or they feared the consummating end of that day (the appearing of ch. 1) had arrived.Your earlier anaphora still works if “that day” in 2:3 aims at the appearing-end of the Day of Christ (1:7–10), while the departure is the beginning.
Then Paul is saying: the consummation does not arrive until the departure comes first and the man of sin is revealed.
That is exactly “begins at the rapture, fulfilled at the second advent,” with the man-of-sin period in between. The only thing the period-view must not do is flatten 2:1 into one scripture.
Verse 1 still names two items: His coming and our gathering together unto Him. The gathering is the start. The brightness of His coming in 2:8 is the finish.Clean order in that readingGathering / catching up — Day of Christ begins
Bema — saints rewarded in His presence
Man of sin revealed on earth — Day of the Lord / tribulation interval
Lord revealed from heaven with His saints and angels — Day of Christ consummated; man of sin destroyed.

That is the second advent of verses 7–9: revealed from heaven, mighty angels, flaming fire. The saints are not being gathered there; He is glorified in them when He comes. That is consummation language.
Put this next to it:Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. The church’s public display is tied to His appearing, not to the catching-up alone. The rapture gets you to Him. This verse is the unveiling with Him.Then the coming with the saints:1 Thessalonians 3:13

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.“Unblameable… at the coming… with all his saints.”
That is the finished church standing at the advent, already His.Paul’s own “until / end” verses keep the Day of Christ as the finish line of the church’s work:
Philippians 1:6
He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:8
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:16
That I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Those three do not name the Mount of Olives. They name the end of the church’s course.
That I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Those three do not name the Mount of Olives. They name the end of the church’s course.
2 Thessalonians 1:10 and Colossians 3:4 tell you what that end looks like on earth: He appears, and the saints appear with Him.The tightest one-line cement, without adding words the Bible does not use:
The Day of Christ is the church’s day that begins when we are gathered unto Him (1 Thess 4:17; 2 Thess 2:1) and is manifested as complete when He comes to be glorified in His saints… in that day (2 Thess 1:10) and we appear with Him in glory (Col 3:4).That is as far as the KJV will carry the claim. The second advent is the public completion of that
