My Response to "I Don't Understand God"
1 John 2:19
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
King James Bible
The other day I came across this tragic article about a former Catholic now turned agnostic because of a family tragedy.
I am very sorry for her terrible loss and know personally how devastating this is.
We read about these stories all the time.
The Word of God tells us that when this happens, the person was really not saved in the first place.
In his story the case is precisely this.
This woman didn't understand God because she never knew God in the first place.
What she did know was RELIGION.
All religion is frankly far - far apart from God.
This includes Catholicism and any other religion including other Christian religious practices such as Evangelical and the traditional protestant codes, catechisms, creeds, church teachings... etc.
All, repeat, ALL RELIGION is man's philosophy to explain God and is FAR from the word of God ultimately.
Colossians 2:8
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
King James Bible
This is the reason I am a strict adherent to ONLY the King James Bible.
We must KNOW God in order to UNDERSTAND God. To know God is ONLY found by studying HIS WORD.
NOTES
Why the King James Bible Only?
Which Church do you belong to? The Church in Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) What the Laodicean church does NOT teach including The Gospel of Salvation, Godhead, included.

I also feel sorry for this person and her son. However, she wrote, "If I’m honest, neither of us believes in God anymore. Or maybe more correctly, both of us question God’s existence." As you wrote, "When this happens, the person was really not saved in the first place." Thank you, brother.
