The Yoke Masters Part 1 - Richard Jordan at Shorewood

Beware of the Yoke Masters

1 Timothy 6:1-5

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Beware of the Yoke Masters - Part 1

Part 1 of a 3 Part Series exposing the Yoke Masters who place a burden on the people by constricting, restricting, dismissing, and deleting scripture altogether,  that definitely applies to the Body of Christ, lying to the people by saying it does NOT.  Sadly these are the Dispensational teachers who go far beyond RIGHTLY DIVIDING and in fact over divide thus WRONGLY DIVIDE scripture.

This work is a joint labor of love by Andrew Sheets, Rick Whittaker and his wife Lena Whittaker.  Brother Whittaker special thanks for the title of this Study and your and Sister Lena’s in- depth assistance in research and collaboration to produce this work.

The Yoke Masters tell you the Church is not in The Book of Revelation and has no part in it whatsoever. And throw out scripture that does apply in other books of the Bible including the Old Testament and in New Testament books beyond the Pauline Epistles.

Jesus Said:

Luke 11:46

“And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.”

Luke 11:52

“Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

Jesus said:

Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Paul wrote:

Colossians 2:8

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

It’s time to take the scissors away from the Hyper Dispensationalists.

DISPENSATIONS and what are the RIGHTLY DIVIDING lines in scripture require us to rightly divide. In 2 Timothy 2:15. We are a firm believers in Dispensations in the Bible, but rightly dividing means precisely to RIGHTLY DIVIDE  - NOT OVER DIVIDE or divide incorrectly.  See properly dividing scripture by dispensation in notes below.

Where are the proper divisions in scripture regarding Dispensations, What pertains to the Body of Christ, What pertains to Israel, etc.

All our work and striving are based on our solid Foundation which is Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!  Scripture is clear in 2 Timothy 2:23 and 1 Corinthians 1:10 for us to stay clear of senseless arguments.

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 John 3:2

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

If Paul and John would write such things, it behooves us who have no way near their knowledge and direct experience with Jesus Christ to realize we only have a glimpse.

Scripture is so clear that we all see through a glass darkly and no matter how well we think we have God's word figured out, we still do not have it perfectly clear.

And certainly no one person can claim to have more knowledge over others as the Pharisees. God forbid!  We invite comments on this study in the spirit of love.

We submit this study in the spirit of love, cautioning those who want to rightly divide scripture to be careful not to OVERLY DIVIDE and become legalistic and blind and not allow scripture to interpret scripture BUT instead force scripture into their own interpretation. (2Peter 1:20-21) But the hyper-dispensationalists will teach you not to  use the Book of 2 Peter, that it does not pertain to the church.  More detail in why we use all books of the Bible for the Body of Christ in Part 3.  Remember the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament.

According to observation, there is a group of  prominent bible teachers of dispensation that have frankly become hyper-dispensationalists which must be reproved for instruction in righteousness.  (2 Tim 3:16)  We pray these individuals take this study and sincerely check themselves.

The most prominent - stand outs - in this group of Hyper-Dispensationalists include at least three that now appear to be saddling a burden and frankly a yoke on Christians.   Richard Jordan at Shorewood Bible Church.   Justin Johnson at Grace Ambassadors and Rodney Beaulieu at Grace Bible Church.  It’s interesting and ironic that all three also teach and preach the pagan theory of TRINITY and not the Biblical Godhead.  See studies on why the Trinity is NOT the Biblical Godhead:

See study of Trinity is Pagan BAAL Worship and is NOT the Biblical Godhead

Trinity is Pagan Practice of Polytheism in Mainstream Christianity #EndTimes #Apostasy (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

In Part 1 we will be addressing Richard Jordan at Shorewood. In this study We will be addressing at length the Church - Body of Christ - in Revelation and that we will be ruling with Jesus Christ in the Millennial Kingdom.  We will be addressing the difference between The Lord’s Day and the Day of the Lord.

In Part 2 we will be addressing Justin Johnson at GRACE AMBASSADORS and addressing the meaning of Church and the fact that the Bride of Christ is in FACT The Body of Christ and is in the book of Revelation.  We will also address PROPHECY not only for Israel but “about” “for” and “to” the Body of Christ as well.

In Part 3 we will be addressing Rodney Beaulieu and his mocking of those of us who claim that the word CHURCH in Revelation means church - Body of Christ and NOT Israel.

We will also include a study on how we are to use parts of scripture that are outside of the Pauline Epistles.

Spoiler alert: the entire Bible is about Jesus Christ. Every time we see Jesus Christ we see His Body.

Let’s get started:

Psalm 45:1-7

Yoke Master:  Richard Jordan

Home | United States | Shorewood Bible Church

Richard Jordan teaches the Church is nowhere to be found in the Book of Revelation that Revelation does NOT pertain to the Church in any manner. He also makes outrageous claims that the phrase “The LORD’S DAY” means “The DAY OF THE LORD.”

The Lord’s DAY is clearly defined in scripture as the first day of the week -  Sunday.  Isaiah 58:5, 13, 14 (Spoiler alert for The Rapture - Come up Hither of John in Revelation 1:10, 4:1 harmonizes with Isaiah 58:5,13,14.)  See more details further down in this study on scripture for the Lord’s Day.

Richard Jordan tells us specifically that taking Sunday as the Lord’s Day comes from Roman Catholicism and is BAAL worship.

(The irony is BAAL worship is preaching and teaching the Pagan TRINITY as the Biblical Godhead which is what he does.)

He claims this phrase means the DAY OF THE LORD (Tribulation).

He also has other disturbing claims that the Bride of Christ is NOT the Church but rather strictly Israel.  See his videos listed here:

https://youtu.be/20Q3RL7fGD4

https://youtu.be/_PlQdbeWN_U

These are frankly lies which we will prove in this study, but the great irony here is that their doctrine of faith claims the Trinity as the Godhead which is in fact BAAL Worship.

Richard Jordan at Shorewood Bible Church mocks Christians who believe the Body of Christ is in Revelation and that the book of Revelation is extremely relevant to the Body of Christ.

He must not read Rev 1:3 when he teaches on the Book of Revelation.

They are Reprobates concerning the faith (2 Timothy 3:8,9) who do not read Revelation 1:3:  “Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand.”  Or Revelation 22:19: “And if any man take away from the words of the book of this prophecy…” (He removes key scripture in Revelation and or completely misinterprets and twists scripture to make it fit his agenda)

These false teachers are becoming more and more outspoken and DOGMATIC in their contention that the BODY of CHRIST is limited to the strict confines of Acts 28 or some say Acts 15 through Philemon.

Any scripture outside of Acts 15 or 28 or some consider Romans through Philemon, they consider irrelevant for the Body of Christ. Most of them will hypocritically claim it was written for the Body of Christ but not to or about the  Body of Christ. But in their teaching and practice they are honestly cutting away madly with their Pharisee scissors. These Pharisees are blind guides who strain a gnat but swallow a camel. Matthew 23:24. Matthew Chapter 23 CLEARLY DEFINE THE HYPOCRITE AS THE MARK OF THE PHARISEE.

Let’s address his points:

He contends The Day of the Lord is the same as the Lord’s Day of Revelation 1:10.

DAY OF THE LORD  VS THE LORD’S DAY.

If the order of words does not matter then words have no meaning AMEN! And AMEN!

By the Way.  The Way, The Truth, The Life…  This is why we Rightly Divide.

Revelation 1:10,

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, and  Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

In Revelation 1:10, John states he was in the Spirit (meditating and worshiping The Lord on His Holy Day) This is clearly understood when we read the words in the order they are given. “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.

Why would John be in awe if it meant the same as The Day of The Lord?  Amos writes: WOE UNTO YOU THAT DESIRE THE DAY OF THE LORD!...  Amos 5:18.

Why would John be taken up into the 3rd Heaven in Revelation 4:1 on the Lord’s Day?  Because The Lord’s Day is  the day consecrated - “the holy” day unto Jesus Christ.  Isaiah 58:5, 13,14.  1 Corinthians 16:2. His Day.  Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Matthew 12:8. On the consecrated day - the first day of the week -  Sunday was the day they meditated on the word. See Acts 20:7.  1 Corinthians 16:2.   John uses the phrase “The battle of that “Great Day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:14 which is clearly the Tribulation - Time of Jacob’s Trouble. Why would John not use the same phrase if it meant the same thing?

The Lord’s Day is NOT the same as The Day of the Lord by both grammar, biblical context and bible hermeneutics comparing scripture with scripture:

Background:

The Day of the Lord = 7 year Tribulation not to be confused with the Day of Christ = The Rapture of the Church.

Grammar:  DAY OF THE LORD. Found 31 times in scripture as in Joel 2:1.

Bible, King James Version (umich.edu)

Within the context comparing scripture with scripture, The word Day in Revelation 1:10 is a noun meaning ERA,  PERIOD OF TIME. This NOT to be confused with Day as in a 24 hour time period as in a certain day of the week.  Day here is followed by the Preposition OF which expresses the relationship between a part and a whole.

This means that the time frame marked by day (period of time) is part of God’s judgment.  Day here is NOT distinct and apart as in the day or a day of the week, but rather is a separate time frame marked as a part of God’s purpose. In the context of scriptures used 31 times plus in Revelation 16:14 and 6:17 we see this is the great day of His wrath.

The Lord’s Day = Sunday the first day of the week - an acceptable day unto The Lord!

All starts from the beginning.  Genesis 1:3, 4 reads: And God said, “Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good.

The established First Day of Creation was the First Day of the Week. This is the Lord’s Day.

The LORD’S DAY.  My Holy Day Isaiah 58:13.

See notes below titled TITLE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK  = THE LORD’S DAY for additional information on the origin of Sunday being the Lord’s Day.

Scripture tells us clearly Jesus was risen early on the first day of the week (Sunday) Mark 16:9.  Jesus then tells Mary Magdalene not to touch him because he must ascend to the Father in heaven * see further explanation below. Jesus tells Mary to go tell the disciples and that he must go to the Father in Heaven. John 20:14. Then in Mark 16:12 he appears in another form which means he had already ascended and returned. And Mark 16:14 he appeared to the 11 Disciples the same day in the evening, see John 20:19.

Note: In Mark 16:14 Jesus rebuked the eleven that sat at the table for not believing the witnesses that saw him after he was risen on the First day.  Again this is significant because they believed NOT that he had resurrected from the dead on the FIRST DAY - THE LORD’S DAY. If we deny him the day does not matter.  The disciples didn’t even know it was Jesus. They did NOT recognize him or believe.  For the Pharisees (The Yoke Masters) to deny the Lord’s Day being the First Day of the week - the resurrection they are in fact denying the connection of His Sacrifice to this day.  This is significant!

The day Sunday, The Lord’s Day is established on the third day by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Paul referred to this as part of the Gospel of Grace read 1 Corinthians 15:4…rose again from the dead the third day… according to the scriptures…

Also see Luke 24:21

The day that Jesus was resurrected, the day he ascended after telling Mary Magdalene not to “touch” *  him before He ascended unto the Father John 20:17.

* The King James Bible translates this correctly as “touch” whereas perverted bibles use words such as “do not cling to me” “hold me” etc. The definition and meaning of “touch” in this context means literally do not affect, taint, reproach in an injurious manner by making an impression upon that affects in a negative manner.

See page 3361 Oxford English Dictionary Compact Edition. Additional definition is act upon contagious, affect  See page 38 of the Oxford English Compact Edition.

What this means is Jesus had not yet gone to heaven to fulfill the role of High Priest at the Blood Sprinkled Mercy SEAT.  Luke 24:26 tells us that Jesus ascended to enter into His glory. For a deeper study see the requirements of the High Priest cleansing ritual before entering the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement. Leviticus Chapter 16.

The sacrificial rituals laid out in Leviticus are Chapters 1 through 7.  The procedures to deal with uncleanliness in Leviticus are chapters 11 through 15. See the Ark of the Covenant Mercy Seat. Study this significance in  Hebrews 9:16-28, and the blood sprinkling for atonement, expiation, propitiation for the removal of sin. John 1:29; Romans 3:24-26;  8:34.

Jesus not only ascended for the purpose of High Priest but also as himself as the sacrifice.  Read 1 Timothy 2:5,6

For nthere is one God, and one omediator between God and men, pthe man Christ Jesus; 6 qWho gave himself a ransom for all, ||to be testified rin due time.

Hebrews Chapter 10.

Especially versus 5 - 23

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Jesus then tells Mary to go and tell the Disciples the news he is risen.

Jesus then appears after he had obviously ascended to Heaven and returned because he see him later appear on the same day to the disciples assembled in John 20:19

The disciples assembled on resurrection Sunday John 20:19 and Jesus met them.  Again on the following Sunday the disciples assembled on Sunday 20:26.

The Church was established on Pentecost the first day of the week Leviticus 23:15-16; Acts 2:1.

The early Christians always worshiped on Sunday Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2.

Another reason for Sunday was Jesus broke the legalism of the Sabbath after Matthew 12. The new day is Sunday.  In Genesis 2:3  God sanctified the sabbath. The Sabbath is the Holy Day which was kept on a Saturday but changed it after Israel rejected the Messiah.  Whatever day God has sanctified is HIS DAY regardless of what day it is.   Going through scripture there is NEVER a reference to HIS HOLY DAY as the Day of His Wrath.  In other words, the Lord’s Day is never used in the same meaning or context as The Day of the Lord.

The Lord’s Day is only found in context 1 time in scripture as a day of the week John was called up into the presence of Jesus Christ in the same manner of caught up (Raptured) (Harpazo) unto Jesus Christ in the 3rd Heaven. See further explanation below.

Lord’s: the contraction apostrophe meaning possession.  A possessive apostrophe is an apostrophe used in a noun to show that the noun owns something… The Lord owns this day! The Lord’s Day.  Revelation 1:10. The Lord of the Sabbath. Mark 2:28.

Exodus 20:10,11  Wherefore The Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.  Amen!

We know that This Day - The Lord’s Day in scripture is Jesus’ resurrection and ascension into heaven as written in John 20:19 and again in Pentecost in Acts 2:1,  Acts 1:9-12. See study below on Pentecost on the first day of the week.

John was referring Revelation 1:10, 4:1  to the DAY OF JESUS’ Ascension was on the day John was caught up before Jesus.  Remember that Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath Matthew 12:8. It is chapter 12 when the major shift from the Kingdom Gospel takes place and Jesus curses the Pharisees. The next chapter 13 is where the Kingdom is clearly removed from Israel.

We find The Lord’s Day in Revelation 1:10 that directly connects to Revelation 4:1 When John was Raptured *

* Note: we use the word raptured. This word comes from the Greek Harpazo - Caught up. Snatched, seized by force. G726.  This is found in Revelation 12:5  The Revelation 12:5 Sign in the heaven signifying the Rapture.  John being “called” COME UP HITHER Revelation 4:1 and not snatched up.  The call UP hither and the ascension is from Strongs G305 ascend - abruptly in context taken from root G303 by implication with INTENSITY into the midst of Jesus Christ.  (John was taken up in his spirit  - not changed as we will be changed in a twinkling of any eye  1 Thessalonians 4:17.)

The 2 Witnesses in Revelation 11:12 were also taken up to heaven in the same language “Come up hither.”

A different study for a different day is Spirit vs spirit  Revelation 1:10 - Revelation 4:1.

Continue reading below in this study to see the Church - the Body of Christ appearing in Revelation and definitely having a role in the PROPHECY OF JESUS CHRIST. The word Harpazo is also found in 2 Corinthians 12:2,4 *Paul Raptured into the 3rd Heaven,  1 Thessalonians 4:17 The Rapture of the Body of Christ.

The word HARPAZO - Rapture is also used in Revelation 12:5.

However we see here Revelation 4:1 John being “called” UP and not snatched up.  The call UP hither is from Strongs G305 ascend - abruptly in context taken from root G303 by implication INTENSITY into the midst of Jesus Christ.

This is significant in that this is not the prophesied promised event we the Body of Christ  wait for in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 or Revelation 12:5 nor was it the unexpected snatching up of Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:2,4, nor was it the Acts 1:9 Ascent of Jesus Christ into Heaven in his self propelled ascent G1869 - in context of G142 (take upon oneself).

John was told, “Come up hither”. John on this Day which is holy (Sunday) was called by direct command and it immediately happened that he was before Jesus Christ and witnessed the testimony and foresaw the Body of Christ which is the 24 Elders, Revelation 4:4.

Note: See this study by H.A. Ironsides of the 24 Elders of Revelation as "representing" the Body of Christ - The Church. Note also the Church is absent after the Revelation chapter 5 and does NOT appear again until Revelation 19. The literary interlude of Revelation 12:5 is the only exception.

Revelation 4 - Ironside's Notes on Selected Books - Bible Commentaries - StudyLight.org

As noted earlier in this study the 2 Witnesses were also told to “Come up hither.”

If the aforementioned scripture isn’t the clearest evidence of THE BODY OF CHRIST existing in Revelation in the promise of the Rapture then NOTHING ELSE IS…  Yet this is the very essence these YOKE MASTERS - Hyper Dispensationalists want to steal from the Body of Christ by not including the church in Revelation.

Pentecost happened on Sunday. This is hugely significant. This corresponds to the first fruits, first resurrection, to the barley harvest all pointing to signs of the Rapture and the Body of Christ.  See NOTES below on Sunday - The First Day of the Week - The Lord’s Day related to the early church’s worship and how John was in the presence of Jesus Christ - Raptured - Brought up, taken up before Jesus in Revelation Chapter 4:1.

SUNDAY and The Lord’s Day is not a Catholic thing it is IN MY KING JAMES BIBLE. These Hyper-Dispensationalists want to scare away bible believers by defining the day as Catholic.

In Revelation 1:10 John is in the Spirit of God and hears the voice of God, exactly described the same as in the call of the Rapture in 1 Corinthians 15:51 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16. John is told about the 7 different churches which I invite you to study as actual physical churches in Asia Minor at the time of John and God gives precise findings on each church as it existed and the problems these churches experienced and their corresponding warnings and rewards.

If people do not believe these churches were real and apply directly to the Body of Christ and also to the Tribulation Saints who will go through the trials of these churches we ask you to consider the warnings to the church of Ephesus in Revelation 1:11, 2:1-7 and compare to Paul’s grave concern over Ephesus in his letter to the Ephesians and Corinthians he even mentions Ephesus in strong words 1 Corinthians 15:32 and in 1 Timothy 1:3, 6:9,10. Look also at Acts Chapter 19 and 20:17-32.

Disclaimer: We fully realize rightly divided scripture points out the continual appearance of the body of Christ in Revelation up to Chapter 5 and then again appearing in Revelation 19. Along with the Body of Christ. Obviously since Revelation is mostly describing the events of the Tribulation, we see the Tribulation Saints clearly - examples Revelation 7:9,13, 14; 12:11, attend the marriage supper of the Lamb with the Body of Christ - Revelation 19:17; and their rule with Christ 20:4.

Regarding the 7 churches of Revelation 2 and 3, as we've stated in this study, there will obviously be similar trials the Tribulation Saints will face that the churches faced. We also see in the 7 churches KINGDOM GOSPEL language, i.e., works plus faith which will be the GOSPEL during the Tribulation. Examples: "Repent" in Revelation 2:5, "Overcometh" Revelation 2:11, 3:5 . However, after extensive review we find these terms also used in the Pauline Epistles and are therefore exclusively written to the Body of Christ. Example: REPENT 2 Corinthians 7:9,10; 1 Thessalonians 1:9, (not required for Salvation GOSPEL OF GRACE as given in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 but rather that compelling conviction we all feel when coming to Christ and feeling true sorrow for our sinful condition). OVERCOME Romans 3:4, 12:21 G3528 tremendous examples in the Pauline Epistles for striving for our crowns. 2 Timothy 2:5. Especially is the overcomer's crown known as the INCORRUPTABLE CROWN Read: 1 Corinthians 9:25.

The love of money and cares of the world have drawn the Ephesians away from their first love spoken of by Jesus in Revelation 2:4 regarding Ephesus are exactly the types of concerns Paul had for the Epesians.

See notes below on excerpts from H.A. Ironsides on the Churches of Revelation and the definite correlation to churches throughout history and the current condition we’re in of the Church of Laodicea.

In Revelation 4: 1,2 John hears God’s voice (Trumpet sound) and he is immediately Raptured up to the 3rd HEAVEN Revelation 4:1 (Come up hither).  and is in the presence of Jesus Christ. Not the 3 pagan Trinity gods or persons of the Father God, The Son God and The Holy Spirit God who is really ONE God. This happens on the Lord’s Day - Sunday The first day of the week that has replaced the Sabbath.

Note:  There is a powerful connection with the Church of Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7, 8 and 10 and Revelation 4:1 when John enters the OPEN DOOR to Heaven because we’re the Saints who will be Raptured among the many false believers and be spared from the Tribulation.  AMEN!

(Read Revelation 1:9-11)

It was the apostle's comfort that he did not suffer as an evil-doer, but for the testimony of Jesus, for bearing witness to Christ as the Immanuel, the Saviour; and the Spirit of glory and of God rested upon this persecuted apostle. The day and time when he had this vision was the Lord's day, the Christian sabbath, the first day of the week, observed in remembrance of the resurrection of Christ. Let us who call him "Our Lord," honour him on his own day.

  CHURCH MEANS CHURCH

In Richard's teaching he does the unbelievable by trying to tell us that although the word church is used 7 times in the churches of Revelation, this means Israel.

ISRAEL IS NEVER REFERRED TO AS THE CHURCH THROUGHOUT SCRIPTURE.  ISRAEL IS ALWAYS REFERRED TO AS ISRAEL AND THE CHURCH MEANS CHURCH. THERE WERE NEVER CHURCHES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT THERE WERE ASSEMBLIES BUT THE FIRST TIME THE WORD CHURCH APPEARS IN SCRIPTURE IS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.

Exodus 12:6  And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Num 8:9  And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

Deut 10:4  And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the Lord gave them unto me.

Hebrews 12:22,23 it is written: 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Dispensation - In the context of the Bible we are commanded to understand Dispensations.  2 Timothy 2:15 (Rightly Divide = divide God words by proper dispensation).  Colossians 1:25, 1 Corinthians 9:17, Ephesians 1:10, Ephesians 3:2.  Please take time here to stop and “study” and meditate these scriptures. Also see why it is so “critical” to rightly divide God’s word. If we do not, we're using God’s word “unlawfully.”  Read carefully this study about striving lawfully 2 Timothy 2:5,

To be a Good Soldier for Jesus We have to Know our Authority and Responsibility in order to Strive Lawfully (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

The meaning of a Dispensation taken from the same Greek word we get the word Economy οἰκονομία oikonomia oy-kon-om-ee'-ah

from STRONGS 3623; administration (of a household or estate); specially, a (religious) "economy":--dispensation, stewardship.

If you’re thorough in your research in the context of this meaning in scripture you’ll see the best fit synonym is ADMINISTER .  Take your medicine that is prescribed - administered to you by your doctor.  Your medicine is “dispensed” - “administered” to you personally for your particular ailment.  Anyone who takes your medicine that was “dispensed” administered” to you is in danger of grave health issues.  This is precisely the purpose of dispensations in the Bible.  Each dispensation is God’s plan of redemption for a particular people for a particular time frame.  Each Dispensation is phased out by an event through A SPECIFIC PERSON and arrives at its final accomplishment.

Dispensational Truth From Genesis to Revelation (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

Although there are 7 major dispensations from the time of Adam and Eve to the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ on earth. Most leave out the Kingdom Dispensation entirely.  In this study we’d like to focus primarily on the 3 major dispensations going from the 1. LAW to the 2. Kingdom to 3. Dispensation of GRACE. The Law given to Moses by God, Exodus 19:3-8 and covers the Bible from Exodus 20 to Jesus coming to fulfill the law and introducing the Kingdom Gospel Matthew 3 and Matthew 4:23.

The Kingdom offer fades out after Israel has rejected their Messiah in Matthew 12 and ends at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The new dispensation of the Church begins at Pentecost with the birth of the church and is further realized in Acts 9 by the conversion of Paul and his direction to preach to the Gentiles in Acts 9:15. We see the Gospel given to Gentiles in Cornelius the Centurion in Acts 10. There’s much study in regard to when did Paul exactly receive the GOSPEL of GRACE as he preached in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. At Acts 20:24 We see Paul using the terminology GOSPEL of the GRACE OF GOD.

The most important aspect of Rightly dividing is understand that ALL Scripture in the Bible is for the Body of Christ but NOT all scripture directly applies to us for our Gospel - plan of salvation. We must carefully inspect, examine each scripture to see if it applies by comparing scripture to the Pauline Epistles. For example: You see throughout this study we use many scriptures are quoted verbatim in all dispensations for example: Children honor and obey their parents. Law - Exodus 20:12, Kingdom - Matthew 15:4, and Grace - Ephesians 6:1. Other scripture may not be quoted verbatim but are in the same spirit in doctrine. For example: In Hebrews, a book written primarily to the Jews there are scriptures such as Hebrews Chapter 10 that directly apply to the Epistles. For example. Hebrews 10:29 corresponds to Ephesians 4:30.

Hyper-Dispensationalists are too quick to cut out all scripture outside of the Romans - Philemon Epistles of Paul. And even in the book of Romans there is a literary interlude between chapters 9-11 where Paul addresses the Jews - The Remnant going through the Tribulation.

Here's good study link from Bereans to define the timeline to when Paul was given the Mystery (Gospel of GRACE to the Gentiles)

The Gospel of GRACE also known as the Dispensation of Grace also known as the Church Age will End at the Rapture of the Church.

It is important to clarify that the classic theological definition of Dispensation is simply a distinctive arrangement or period in history that forms the framework through which God relates to mankind.  This definition however is weak under the scrutiny of scripture and especially in the context of comparing scripture with scripture.  We ask you to conduct your own study to verify what we write, but the truth is each DISPENSATION IS A CHANGE in God’s plan for salvation for mankind in His governance over man’s spiritual life and its manifestation in the physical realm. In other words, a Dispensation is a SALVATION PLAN to maintain mankind’s JUSTIFICATION before God.  Here are a few examples of scripture as one salvation plan changes to another.

Kingdom Gospel found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, examples: Matthew  4:23 specified in Chapters 5 through 7 (note: we get a glimpse of the future dispensation when Jesus remarks on the faith of the Roman Centurion in Matthew Chapter 8. The same happens to Peter in Acts 10 with another Roman Centurion named Cornelius. John 3:3,16.  Acts 2:21 up to Acts 28, including Romans 9-11 - specifically Romans 10:9,10,13  Matthew     John   Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9,10,13 (Note Romans 9-11 is a literary interlude set aside that Paul uses to address the JEWS regarding the time of Jacob's trouble in which the Tribulation Saints will be under the same dispensation as the Kingdom Gospel  FAITH plus WORKS.  REPENT, BE BAPTIZED, BELIEVE AND CALL UPON JESUS TO BE SAVED.

Gospel of GRACE:   Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures, was buried and rose again on the 3rd day according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

The Church in this age requires a thorough understanding of Dispensations which clearly define different SALVATION PLANS from Adam to today’s Christian. A change in Dispensation means a change in the plan of salvation.

Sunday is the First Day of the Week and was observed by the first church

Read following scriptures:

From the beginning Exodus 20:10,11; 16:23, 31:14,15, Isaiah 58:5,13,14  Mark 2:28, Matthew 12 Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath

God made the Sabbath holy and a command to follow and adhere to this day. However, after Israel turned to BAAL worship and rejected God, God divorced Israel and turned them over to Gentile rule.  Time of the Gentiles Read Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8, and 9. After Israel rejected their Messiah, the age of the Kingdom Dispensation and the Law transitioned into the Dispensation of the Gospel. Read Luke 21:22-24. Excerpt:  H.A. IRONSIDE

The Lord Himself has indicated the divisions of the book of the Revelation in chapter 1, verse 19. We are told that He said to the Apostle John: “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.” A somewhat more literal rendering of the last two parts of this verse would be: “The things which are now going on, and the things which shall be after these things.”

At the time that the Lord uttered these words, John had only seen the vision of chapter 1, the Son of Man in the midst of the candlesticks. Therefore, we are justified in saying that the first division of this Book would be chapter 1, verses 1 to 18. The things which are now going on would embrace the next two chapters where, under the similitude of seven letters addressed to seven actual Christian churches or assemblies existing in the last decade of the first century of the Christian Era in the reign of the Emperor Domitian, under whose tyrannical sway John was banished to the Isle of Patmos, we have an outline picture of the moral and spiritual conditions which the Lord saw would prevail through seven periods of the Church’s history from apostolic days to the end of its testimony on earth. These churches were all located in the Roman proconsular province of Asia, where John himself, according to the best records that we have, spent something like the last thirty years of his life. For a very definite reason the Lord selected the particular seven that we have here. There were other cities in this province in which churches were located, but they are not referred to here. Hierapolis was one of them; Colossae was another. The seven here selected will be seen, by consulting a map, to form a kind of a rough circle, so that if one took the highway from Ephesus, he would go on to Smyrna, then Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea, and from there back to Ephesus.

We are told in the twentieth verse of chapter 1, which introduces this division: “The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” The Lord, then, is seen in the midst of these churches which are in the place of witness-bearing here on the earth. If we are only to think of the state and condition of the churches in the day when the Apocalypse was written, there is no particular mystery involved, but the mystery is now readily unfolded, for as we stand almost in the middle of the twentieth century, we can look back over all the years that have gone and see how remarkably these letters fit into seven great periods of Church history.

Observe, we do not have here specific historical facts as to individuals predicted. We mention this because some have objected to what has already been said because of the fact that the great outstanding characters of Church history seem to be utterly ignored. “How,” one commentator asks, “could the letter to Sardis, for instance, speak of the great State churches of Protestantism when there is no mention of Luther, Calvin, or any of the other outstanding heroes of the Reformation?” The answer, of course, is that we are not dealing here with events or persons so much as with principles. In the letter to Sardis we see the moral and spiritual condition of Protestantism, and that is what the Spirit of God sought to make known. The most convincing proof that this suggested interpretation is the correct one is this: If we were to change the order of these letters in any degree, we would have confusion, but taken as they are, everything is in perfect accord with Church history. We cannot, for instance, substitute Sardis for Smyrna, Laodicea for Thyatira, Pergamos for Ephesus, or make any other change without spoiling God’s wonderful portrayal of the prophetic story of the Church.

According to this view, then, we are now living in the Laodicean period of Church history. Ephesus sets forth the early days when living apostles still ministered to the Church on earth. Smyrna pictures the moral and spiritual conditions prevailing in the days of the ten great outstanding Roman persecutions. Pergamos tells of the union of Church and State in the days of Con- to heed His voice. They agree perfectly with the seal judgments.

Quotes from Early Church Fathers: the Sabbath, Lord’s Day, and Worship

There is much confusion on what the early church taught in regards to the Sabbath, the Lord’s Day, and the day of worship. The early Church Fathers never taught that the Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week. The traditional Christian teaching is that Christ died on Friday, was dead and in the grave during the Sabbath (Saturday), and He rose from the dead on the eight day or the first day of the week.

The teaching that the Sabbath changed to the first day of the week is a new teaching from the reformation. Below are key quotes from the early Church Fathers that clearly show that the Christian church gathered on the first day of the week and in no way believed that the first day of the week was the replacement for the Jewish Sabbath.

The Didache

1. But every Lord’s day do ye gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure.

(Didache Chapter XIV.11 —Christian Assembly on the Lord’s Day. 14 [A.D. 70]).

 The Letter of Barnabas

Since, therefore, the days are evil, and Satan possesses the power of this world, we ought to give heed to ourselves, and diligently inquire into the ordinances of the Lord. Fear and patience, then, are helpers of our faith; and long-suffering and continence are things which fight on our side. While these remain pure in what respects the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Science, and Knowledge rejoice along with them. For He hath revealed to us by all the prophets that He needs neither sacrifices, nor burnt-offerings, nor oblations, saying thus, “What is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me, saith the Lord? I am full of burnt-offerings, and desire not the fat of lambs, and the blood of bulls and goats, not when ye come to appear before Me: for who hath required these things at your hands? Tread no more My courts, not though ye bring with you fine flour. Incense is a vain abomination unto Me, and your new moons and sabbaths I cannot endure.” He has therefore abolished these things, that the new law of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is without the yoke of necessity, might have a human oblation(The Epistle of Barnabas 1 Chapter II.—The Jewish sacrifices are now abolished.)

Further, He says to them, “Your new moons and your Sabbath I cannot endure.” Ye perceive how He speaks: Your present Sabbaths are not acceptable to Me, but that is which I have made, [namely this,] when, giving rest to all things, I shall make a beginning of the eighth day, that is, a beginning of another world. Wherefore, also, we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead. And when He had manifested Himself, He ascended into the heavens.(The Epistle of Barnabas Chapter XV.—The false and the true Sabbath. [A.D. 74]).

 Ignatius of Antioch

If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death—whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master(Letter to the Magnesians(shorter) Chapter IX.—Let us live with Christ [A.D. 110]).

During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathæa had laid Him. At the dawning of the Lord’s day He arose from the dead, according to what was spoken by Himself, “As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” The day of the preparation, then, comprises the passion; the Sabbath embraces the burial; the Lord’s Day contains the resurrection(The Epistle of Ignatius to the Trallians Longer Versions. Chapter IX.—Reference to the history of Christ.)

Justin Martyr :

But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.(First Apology Chapter LXVII.—Weekly worship of the Christians. [A.D. 155]).

First Apology of Justin Martyr

When was Justin Martyr written?

138–161 A.D.), sometime in the years 155–157 A.D. It seems Justin composed the work in direct response to the martyrdom of Saint Polycarp (69–155 A.D.), an early Christian bishop, theologian, and Apostolic Father (one who personally knew one or more of the apostles of Jesus)

Chapter 1. Address

To the Emperor Titus Ælius Adrianus Antoninus Pius Augustus Cæsar

Chapter 67. Weekly worship of the Christians

And we afterwards continually remind each other of these things. And the wealthy among us help the needy; and we always keep together; and for all things wherewith we are supplied, we bless the Maker of all through His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Ghost. And on the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons. And they who are well to do, and willing, give what each thinks fit; and what is collected is deposited with the president, who succours the orphans and widows and those who, through sickness or any other cause, are in want, and those who are in bonds and the strangers sojourning among us, and in a word takes care of all who are in need. But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.

The First Apology was an early work of Christian apologetics addressed by Justin Martyr to the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius. In addition to arguing against the persecution of individuals solely for being Christian, Justin also provides the Emperor with a defense of the philosophy of Christianity and a detailed explanation of contemporary Christian practices and rituals. This work, along with the Second Apology, has been cited as one of the earliest examples of Christian apology, and many scholars attribute this work to creating a new genre of apology out of what was a typical Roman administrative procedure.[1]

The Lord's Day in Christianity is generally Sunday, the principal day of communal worship. It is observed by most Christians as the weekly memorial of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is said in the canonical Gospels to have been witnessed alive from the dead early on the first day of the week. The phrase appears in Rev. 1:10.

15th Station of the Cross: the Resurrection.

According to some sources, Christians held corporate worship on Sunday in the 1st century.[1] (First Apology, chapter 67), and by 361 AD it had become a mandated weekly occurrence. Before the Early Middle Ages, the Lord's Day became associated with Sabbatarian (rest) practices legislated by Church Councils.[2] Christian denominations such as the Reformed Churches, Methodist Churches, and Baptist Churches regard Sunday as Christian Sabbath, a practice known as first-day Sabbatarianism.[3][4] First-day Sabbatarian (Sunday Sabbatarian) practices include attending morning and evening church services on Sundays, receiving catechesis in Sunday School on the Lord's Day, taking the Lord's Day off from servile labour, not eating at restaurants on Sundays, not Sunday shopping, not using public transportation on the Lord's Day, not participating in sporting events that are held on Sundays, as well as not viewing television and the internet on Sundays; Christians who are Sunday Sabbatarians often engage in works of mercy on the Lord's Day, such as evangelism, as well as visiting prisoners at jails and the sick at hospitals and nursing homes.[5][6][7][8] A Sunday custom present in many Christian countries is the "hearing" (abhören) of children at dinnertime, in which the parents listen while the children recall what their pastor preached about in the Sunday sermon; if any corrections are needed, the parents instruct them.[9]

In Christian calendars, Sunday is regarded as the first day of the week.[10][11]

The connection with the Body of Christ and Passover - Pentecost Sunday

Proving the Date of PENTECOST! (hope-of-israel.org)

During the Passover week (days of Unleavened Bread) the Lord told the Jews to do this. After sunset ending the regular Sat. sabbath the High Priest went to the field and cut enough barley to make an omer (1/10 of an ephah) for an offering to the God of the firstfruits of the harvest. This was called the 'Wave Offering'. Very early the next morning on the first day of the week they beat the barley grain off the stalk and cleaned it of chaff, purifying it. Then the High Priest lifted up the bowl containing the omer of barley and brought back down.

exegesis - Did Jesus ascend to Heaven twice? - Christianity Stack Exchange

Jesus ascended to heaven after his resurrection two times.  Once in John 20 after Jesus tells Mary Magdalene not to touch him before he has ascended to the Father. John 20:17. We know this was on a Sunday. Read John 20:19.

Jesus was the Firstfruits of the Resurrection. It’s believed that as the High Priest cut the stalks loose from the ground Jesus was Resurrected shortly after sunset on the Sat. sabbath which would have been the beginning of the first day of the week for the Jews. Then Mary sees Him. "say to them, I ascend to My Father".  As the High Priest lifted up the omer of barley as a first fruits offering, Jesus ascended to His Father as the Firstfruits offering of the Resurrection.

Note:  We THE BODY OF CHRIST are PART OF THE FIRST RESURRECTION: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.  Revelation 20:6.

Scripture for the Feast of Weeks are found in Leviticus 23:15–21.

REV 20:6:  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years:

This is clearly the Church which will be with the Tribulation Saints mentioned in Revelation 20:4.

We will attend the WEDDING SUPPER OF THE LAMB. REV 19:9.
