Genesis 6:1-4 Hebrew Text
Introduction
This text in God’s Word is one of the most controversial texts being debated among those claiming to be “Christians” today. What a useless waste of time and energy! A little careful Bible study unveils the whole subject to those willing to receive as truth what God’s Word actually and literally says. Once a person actually sees the Hebrew wording for themselves, as I have reproduced it above, there is no longer any basis for debate or controversy. The inspired Word speaks quite clearly for itself.
The text reproduced just above sets forth the exact words which are in the inspired Masoretic Hebrew text from which the King James Bible was translated. See also The Torah published by the Jewish Publication Society of America, 1962 edition. You can’t fool a people about their own language. The Torah contains an excellent translation of Genesis 6:1-4. I urge our readers to check out these texts for themselves. I challenge any reader to point out even one place where I have not faithfully reproduced the Hebrew text.
I invite (urge) our readers to join me in a careful study of this text, and numerous other passages in God’s Word related to this subject. It will be an enlightening study that will be spiritually profitable to any true believer.
The Relationship between the Sons of God, Giants, and Demon Spirits

The term, “sons of God,” [ben-ha-elohim] occurs only five times in the Old Testament. See Genesis 6:2, 6:4, Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7.
The word, “giants,” is translated from four different Hebrew words in the Old Testament. Each of these words is listed below, plus additional related words which are essential for a complete study of our subject.
1. gibbor ….. Meaning “mighty or strong one.” This word occurs 159 times in the Old Testament. It is translated as “giant” only one time, and is not relevant to our study.
2. nephilim …. Meaning “a feller or a fallen one.” This word occurs only 3 times in the Old Testament, and is translated each time as “giant.” The actual meaning of this Hebrew word is not “giants,” but was apparently so translated this way by the KJV translators because of the huge stature of these “nephilim.” See Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33.
3. rapha .…. Meaning “Fearful one or giant.” This word occurs 21 times in the Old Testament. It is translated as “giant” 13 times, as “rephaim” 4 times, and as “rephaims” 4 times. See Genesis 14:5, 15:20, Deuteronomy 2:11, 2:20, 3:11, 3:13, Joshua 12:4, 13:12, 15:8, 17:15, 18:16, 2 Samuel 5:18, 5:22, 23:13, 1 Chronicles 11:15, 14:9, 20:4, 20:6, 20:8, and Isaiah 17:5.
4. raphah ….. Related to and meaning the same as the word above. This word occurs 4 times in the Old Testament, and is translated as “giant” all 4 times. See 2 Samuel 21:16, 21:18, 21:20, and 21:22.
5. rephaim ….. Meaning “strong, shades, or fearful ones.” This word occurs 8 times in the Old Testament. It is translated as “dead” 7 times, and as “deceased” 1 time. See Job 26:5, Psalm 88:10, Proverbs 2:18, 9:18, 21:16, Isaiah 14:9, 26:14, and 26:19.
Two more words necessary to a complete study of our subject are the words, Anak and Anakim.
Anakim is the plural form of Anak. Both of these words are translated from the Hebrew word, “Anok.” The meaning of this word is “giants or long necked ones.” The words “Anak” and “Anakim” occur 18 times in the Old Testament. See Numbers 13:22, 13:28, 13, 33, Deuteronomy 1:28, 2:10-11, 2:21, 9:2, Joshua 11:21-22, 14:12, 14:15, 15:13-14, 21:11, and Judges 1:20.
Finally, the word “Arba” is also necessary for a complete study of our subject. “Arba” is a Hebrew word brought into the English Bible untranslated. This word carries a dual meaning. It means both “four” and “strength of Baal.” Four is the Bible number associated with “the flesh, the natural man, or humanity.” Baal is the dumb idol which personifies Satan himself. In essence, “Arba” and those who descended from him were used by Satan after the flood to infiltrate the human race, and attempt to establish Satanic control over humanity. The word “Arba” occurs 3 times in the Old Testament. See Genesis 35:27, Joshua 14:15 [in Italics], 15:13, and 21:11.
Dear readers, study carefully each of the Scriptures given. Being familiar with these Scripture
passages will enable you to understand and appreciate this exposition of God’s Word.
The Sons of God
The “ben-ha-elohim,” translated as “sons of God” in the Old Testament were angels. This is
easily proven by comparing Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7 with our text verses. When we examine the context in which each of these passages occurs, it becomes obvious that each of these references are speaking about angelic beings.
In Job 1:6-12 the “sons of God” [ben-ha-elohim] present themselves before the Lord and Satan
comes “among” them. Verses 7 and 12 plainly indicate that Satan has come into the actual presence of the Lord God in Heaven, and is speaking directly with the Lord God. Therefore it is obvious that the “sons of God” are in the same place. Preceding the resurrection of Christ, the Lord Himself emphatically stated, “…no man hath ascended up to heaven,” John 3:13. Therefore these “sons of God” in the very presence of the Lord Himself in Job 1:6-12 could not be men. The only alternative then is that they are angels.
In Job 2:1 the situation is exactly the same as in the preceding chapter. Therefore the

conclusions have to be the same. The “sons of God” in these passages are obviously angels.
Job 38:7 gives absolute proof that the “sons of God” are angels. Verses 4-7 of this chapter are dealing with the time period when the Lord laid the foundation of the earth. This occurred before mankind was created. Verse 7 tells us that at that time “…the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God [ben-ha-elohim] shouted for joy.” Since mankind had not yet been created, it is obvious that the “sons of God” in this passage had to be angels. No other conclusion is possible.
Since each of these passages plainly teach that the “sons of God” were angels, then where is the Scriptural authority to claim that they were just “righteous men?” Well…?? There is no Scriptural authority to make such a claim. Absolutely none! The “sons of God” in all five places where this term is used in the Old Testament were angels. Think about it!
The Context of Genesis 6:1-4
When the context of this passage is carefully examined it becomes quite obvious that there is no distinction made in the text between two lines of descent in the human race. None! This teaching of two lines of descent [the righteous and the ungodly] has become a popular theory today. I remind our readers that just because a teaching is popular does not mean that it is Bible truth.
Many of God’s people do not realize that the word “Adam” is not an English Word. “Adam” is a Hebrew word. It is the Lord’s own generic designation for the human race, Genesis 5:1-2. The Hebrew word “Adam” is usually translated as “man” or “men” and it occurs over 800 times in the Old Testament.
In Genesis 6:1-4 the Hebrew text reveals that it was not the descendants of a Godly line [the righteous line of Seth] that intermarried with the descendants of an ungodly line [the wicked line of Cain]. Rather, it was the descendants of “Adam” [the whole human race] that cohabited with totally different beings; “the ben-ha-elohim.” It is absolutely impossible to “rightly divide the Word of truth” and use this text to teach that a righteous line of humans intermarried with a wicked line of humans. Even though this modern theory has become popular and widely accepted, it is nothing but a corruption of the text and a violation of God’s Word.
What the text actually teaches is that wicked fallen angels [ben-ha-elohim] cohabited with women [“the daughters of Adam”] preceding the flood. The result of such an ungodly union produced a race of beings who were not true humans; the “nephilim.” These “nephilim” offspring were “enosh” [mortals]. They had physical human bodies of flesh received from the humanity of their mothers. Therefore they could die or be killed because their bodies were mortal bodies. The word “enosh” is sometimes translated as “man” or “men” in God’s Word, and sometimes as “husband,” but the basic meaning of the word is “a mortal; a living being subject to death.”
The word “nephilim” actually means “fallen ones.” This word speaks of their spiritual state, having been fathered by wicked angels who had followed Satan [the anointed cherub…Ezekiel 28:11-19] in his rebellion against the Lord. The word “enosh” speaks of their mortal state, having received their humanity from the women who gave them birth. Thus they had the supernatural nature of their wicked angelic fathers and the fleshly nature of their human mothers dwelling in the same body. Apparently the word “nephilim” was translated as “giants” in the English Bible only because of the huge physical stature attained by these wicked ungodly creatures.
I also want to emphasize that the word “nephilim” is not a human “invention” thought up to support a man-made theory. Rather, the word “nephilim” is right there in the Hebrew text in Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33.
Objections Answered
[1] Those who hold to the popular theory of two lines of descent object to the truth I have presented by claiming that if the “ben-ha-elohim” were wicked angels, then they wouldn’t have been called “sons of God.” Such an objection is not supported by the Scriptures. In Hebrews 12:9 it is emphatically stated that our Heavenly Father is the “Father of spirits.” Angels, both good and evil,

are “spirits.” See Psalm 104:4, Hebrews 1:7, and 1:13-14. Since God created all the angelic hosts, then He most certainly is their Father from the standpoint of creation, Revelation 4:11.
Further, if the “two lines of descent” theory was true, then why doesn’t a believer and an unbeliever marrying and procreating produce “giants” today? Well…???
[2] Another foolish objection is the claim that “angels are sexless,” and that “angels do not marry.” The so-called proof of these claims is that “the Lord said so.” I am made to wonder how many readers who make these claims have read Revelation 22:18-19 lately? I really believe that those who claim to be quoting the inspired Word of God should quote it correctly. The Lord Jesus Christ did not say that angels are sexless! He also did not say that angels do not or cannot marry. Where is such a statement found in the Scriptures? Book, chapter, and verse, please? 1 Thessalonians 5:21 is still in the Bible and it applies to every reader, just the same as it applies to me.
No wonder the churches are in such an apostate mess today. With preachers and pastors who do not or will not seriously study the Scriptures leading the churches, how could it be otherwise? Some of these preachers and pastors today who are so proud of their great “education” don’t even know how to read God’s Word. Sic! No place in the Bible is it ever stated that “angels do not marry,” or that “angels are sexless.” Our readers can search the pages of the entire Bible, and they will never find such statements. Never! What the Lord actually said was, and I quote the Lord verbatim, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven,” Matthew 22:30. The other two accounts of the same event are recorded in Mark 12:25 and Luke 20:36. Folks, the fallen angels in Genesis 6:1-4 were not “the angels of God.” Is this just too hard for some to understand? Are the words of the Lord Himself plain enough? The last time I checked, there was a great deal of difference between “the angels of God” and the “fallen angels.” Hello!
When one adds something to the Word of God that the Lord obviously did not say, then they are in direct violation of Revelation 22:18-19. People, especially God’s people, should be very careful how they use or mis-use the Word of God. Matthew 12:36 is still in the Bible. Take heed!
So down goes the objections of those who just don’t want to see the truth of Genesis 6:1-4.
Further Proof of Angelic Cohabitation
In Jude 6-7 the Scripture states, “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
This portion of Scripture plainly states that the sin of the angels was the exact same sin as that of Sodom and Gomorrah; “giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh.” Here is a statement in God’s Word that plainly teaches that angels sexually went after “strange flesh.” See also 2 Peter 2:4-5.
Why do many so-called “Christian scholars” want to deny this? Is it to uphold a popular and unproveable theory? Certainly their denial is not to uphold the truth of God’s Word. God’s Word is quite clear in both Genesis 6:1-4 and Jude 6-7 that wicked angels most certainly did cohabit with women. That illicit union produced a race of beings who were not true humans, and who were exceedingly wicked. They were so wicked that they corrupted the whole human race, Genesis 6:12. The Lord Himself so despised them that He determined to wipe “all flesh” from off the face of the earth with the flood, Genesis 6:17.
Folks, some can hang onto their popular theory if they choose to do so, but by God’s grace I chose long ago to receive and proclaim what God’s Word actually and literally says and teaches. Praise the Lord! Further, I do not appreciate being labeled as a “heretic” or “false teacher” for staying strictly with what the Scriptures actually and literally say, rather than denying the Scriptures to embrace a theory that has become popular with some in the ranks of Christianity today.
Verification from Scriptural History

The “giants” [nephilim] were the offspring of wicked fallen angels and women. Notice that Genesis 6:4 clearly states, “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men…..” Notice the expression, “and also after that.” This states that after “those days” [the days of Noah preceding the flood] there were more “nephilim” in the earth. Is there any historical record of such? There sure is!
Numbers 13 contains the record of the spies being sent to “spy out the land,” Numbers 13:17. After spying out the land the spies returned and gave their report to the children of Israel
This inspired verse emphatically states that the “sons of Anak” were descended from the “nephilim,” and were themselves “nephilim.” So according to the inspired Word the “nephilim” were dwelling in the land of Canaan
The Baptist Trumpet, official organ of the Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas, in their October 20, 1976 edition, printed an article by one of their so-called “great scholars.” In the article he emphatically denied that angels cohabited with women, citing what he claimed was “Scriptural proof” that such a union is impossible. In the course of his article he stated that the “nephilim” were “Obviously the descendants of Cain.” He made this statement after previously stating that “Verse four speaks of another group of evil men called “Nephilim.” These are the same men mentioned in Numbers 13:33.” Right there this so-called “great scholar” blew himself right out of the water. If the “nephilim” were merely human beings who had descended from Cain before the flood, then what in the world were they doing living in the land of Canaan over 800 years after the flood? Even a casual study of God’s Word will reveal that the descendants of Cain were destroyed in the flood. Then how could the descendants of Cain be living in the land of Canaan
The simple truth is that the “nephilim” were destroyed in the flood. But in literal fulfillment of Genesis 6:4, after the flood Satan attempted the same wicked infiltration of the human race all over again. Satan sent more wicked fallen angels to cohabit with women, and once more beings were born who were not true humans. This was made possible by the extreme depravity of the inhabitants of Canaan . They had become so depraved in the centuries following the flood that their women probably welcomed and even sought a sexual liaison with “spirit guides” [wicked angels]. If anyone thinks I am exaggerating the wickedness of the inhabitants of Canaan , then I suggest you carefully study Leviticus 18, 19, and 20.
Folks, wouldn’t it be better to just “…let God be true, but every man a liar,” Romans 3:4, than to deny the plain statements of God’s Word? Think about it!
Documented History
I have in my library a copy of the Jewish Septuagint, a Hebrew Bible translated into Greek before the first coming of Christ. The copy I have translates Genesis 6:2 as: “…the angels of God saw the daughters of men.”
I also have a copy of The Torah, mentioned previously in this study. It translates Genesis 6:2 as: “the divine beings saw how beautiful the daughters of men were and took wives from among those that pleased them.”
The Anti-Nicene Fathers, in commenting on Genesis 6:2, wrote, “Into impure love of virgins (by angels)…were begotten those who are called giants.”

Josephus, the Jewish historian, in his Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter III, page 36, wrote,
“For many angels of God accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good, on account of the confidence they had in their own strength; for the tradition is, that these men did what resembled the acts of those whom the Grecians call giants.” William Whister, the translator of this edition of the writings of Josephus, in his notes at the bottom of the page, added this comment, “This notion, that the fallen angels were, in some sense, the fathers of the old giants, was the constant opinion of antiquity.” [The underlining is mine…FMR].
Justin Martyr, 110 A.D., in his comments on Genesis 6:2, wrote, “the angels transgressed, and were captivated by love of women and begat children.”
Methodius, writing in 260 A.D. stated, “The devil was insolent…as also these (angels) who were enamoured of fleshly charms, and had illicit intercourse with the daughters of men.”
John Milton, who wrote Paradise Lost, in commenting on Genesis 6:1-4, wrote, “Before the flood, thou with thy lusty crew, False titled sons of God, roaming the earth, cast wanton eyes on the daughters of men, and coupled with them, and begot a race.”
I also have a book in my library entitled, History of Christian Doctrine. This book was compiled by Henry C. Sheldon and published in 1885. In chapter III, section II, page 96, it is stated, “The fall of the other angels who lost their first estate was quite generally attributed to lust after the daughters of men. This view agreed with the current interpretation of Genesis VI.2, according to which the “sons of God” who mingled with the daughters of the Cainites were angels. The souls of the giants sprung from this intermingling were regarded as identical with demons—beings occupying an intermediate place between men and evil angels, and serving with the latter as patrons of heathenism, with all its lying wonders, oracles, superstitions, impurities, and delusions.” [Underlining is mine…FMR].
I could quote from many more references to demonstrate that throughout history it has been commonly believed and taught by both the Jews and Christian believers that preceding the flood wicked angels cohabited with women. Their cohabitation produced a race of beings who were not true humans; the “nephilim.” This was generally held as Bible truth by most Christian people right up to the end of the 19th century. The theory of two lines of human descent who intermarried and produced “giants” is a modern theory that has no basis in God’s Word, or in past history.
Why then do “modern scholars” [Sic!] think they are qualified to explain away that which the Scriptures plainly state, and what God’s people [true believers] have held as Biblical truth right through the centuries? Well…??
Further Biblical Light
Following the passage in Numbers 13:33, the next mention of the “giants” is found in Deuteronomy 1:28 and 2:9-22. In these passages Moses is rehearsing the journeys of the children of Israel
Then the next mention is in connection with “Og, the king of Bashan .” See Deuteronomy 3:11-13, Joshua 12:4-6, and 13:12. “Og” was the last king of the giants. He was not the last giant!
The wickedness of the “giants” is again emphasized in Deuteronomy 9:1-5.
We are told how some of the “giants” were cut off [killed], and some were still living, in Joshua 11:21-22.
More details about the “giants” are given in Joshua 14:6-15, 15:13-14, and 21:9-12.
The “valley of the giants” is mentioned in Joshua 15:8, 18:16, and Judges 1:20. The valley they once occupied marked the border of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.
Note the children of Joseph mentioned in Joshua 17:14-18.
There were “giants” still living in Gath as recorded in 1 Samuel 17:1-10, 17:45-51, 2 Samuel 21:15-22, and 1 Chronicles 20:4-8.
Scriptural Conclusions
The “giants” [nephilim] who existed before the flood were drowned in the flood. Since they had a supernatural spirit nature received from their angelic fathers, they did not simply cease to exist. When their mortal bodies were destroyed in the flood, their immortal spirits then became disembodied spirits,

or what the Scriptures refer to as “demons.” From that time forward they are referred to in the Old Testament Hebrew text as “rapha, raphah, or rephaim” [demon spirits].
After the flood “seducing spirits” once more began to seek after women, and likely women after the spirits. This wicked rebellion against God once more resulted in cohabitation between women and wicked fallen angels. Once again a race of beings was born [nephilim] who were not true humans. Them or their descendants were the “giants” [nephilim] who were living in the land of Canaan land of Canaan
The Lord God hated Satan’s attempt to supplant the human race with beings who were not true human, so much so that He decreed that these evil beings would never have a bodily resurrection. Study Isaiah 26:13-14. The word “deceased” in this passage is a noun in the Hebrew text. The word is actually “rephaim.” This Hebrew word refers to the disembodied spirits [demons] who were, before their bodies were destroyed, “nephilim.” They were so evil and caused so much wickedness in humanity, that God decreed that they will never be allowed to have their own body again. That is why “demon spirits” are always seeking to possess a human body to live in, and through that person’s body, carry out their evil works. Let lost people be warned! The demons want YOUR body!
When not sowing evil among men, these evil demon spirits reside beneath the sea. See Job 26:5 and Psalm 88:10. The word “dead” in both passages is a noun. It is the word “rephaim,” the Old Testament word for demon spirits. There is coming a day of judgment for these evil demon spirits. This is plainly taught by the question that “Legion” asked the Lord in Matthew 8:28-29 and Mark 5:7-9. At the end of the Tribulation demon spirits will be imprisoned beneath the sea in the location of the ancient city of Babylon, Revelation 18:2. They will remain there throughout the Millennial Kingdom

New Testament Verification
The New Testament, just like the Old Testament, is filled with Scriptures verifying the existence and activities of demon spirits [formerly nephilim]. The Scriptures clearly indicate that demon activity will be on the increase as this present age draws towards the end. Let’s examine a few New Testament references…..
Twenty times in the New Testament we find the words, “unclean spirits.” Most of those who claim to be “God’s people” just skim over these words, never giving them more than a passing thought. Folks, look up this expression in a good Greek Lexicon. These words refer to evil spirits who are sexually unchaste. Does this ring any bells in view of the times we are living in?
Sexually unchaste demon spirits are specifically referred to in Proverbs 9:13-18. The word “dead” in verse 18 is a noun. It is the Hebrew word “rephaim,” the Old Testament term for demon spirits. This passage teaches that every act of sexual intercourse outside the bonds of marriage is motivated by seducing demon spirits, and that demon spirits are present when the act is taking place. This is more than enough Scriptural evidence to prove that fallen angels and demon spirits are interested in the sexual activities of the human race. Hello!
Some of God’s people [true believers] reading this ought to bow their heads and thank the Lord in tears for God’s grace that saved them and delivered them out of such illicit demon inspired sexual rot. Amen? I’m not pointing fingers or condemning anyone. I’m just stating the truth, and many of my readers know it. Thank the Lord for His great mercy, grace, and salvation! Hallelujah!
Today millions of people around the world are engaging in fornication, adultery, “secret” affairs [God knows], shacking up, homosexuality, lesbianism, child molestation, incest, sadism, masochism, bestiality, pornography, and rape. In view of what has been presented, and what is going on all around us today, can any true believer deny that demon spirits are real, and desire to corrupt the sexuality of human beings? Well…??

I didn’t include divorce in the above list. I should have! At the turn of the last century, according to the statistical records, there was one divorce for every ten marriages, and at that time divorce was looked upon as a tragedy and a shame. As I write, today the divorce rate has increased until there are actually more people getting a divorce today than there are getting married. Just a quirk of human nature? …..or, is it the unseen influence of demon spirits trying to destroy the home and the family which God ordained from the beginning of the human race? Read Ephesians 6:12 and think about it.
In Matthew 7:21-23 the Lord Himself warned of those who would claim a right to enter the Lord’s kingdom on the basis of their having “cast out devils” [demons]. If there was no “nephilim” who became “demon spirits” when their mortal bodies were destroyed, then there is no demons to be “cast out” today, so why would some claim that they have done such a thing? Hello!
In Matthew 12:43-45 the Lord gave a parable about Israel Israel
Everyone claiming to be a “Christian” should be familiar with Matthew 24:37, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” If we take this statement of our Lord at face value [and I do], then the very same things that occurred before the flood will be repeated just before the Lord comes. Folks, in the world today there are literally thousands of women in various nations, many right here in America
New Age literature repeatedly claims that the leaders of the world New Age movement are not true humans. They claim that their leaders were born to women impregnated by “spirit guides.” I have news items and magazine articles on this subject going all the way back to the 1960’s in my files. Folks, there are just too many reports of women being sexually assaulted by unseen spirits for some of it not to be true. I believe that such activity simply verifies what God’s Word plainly teaches.
In 1 Corinthians 10:19-21 the Apostle Paul attributes all idolatry to the influence of demon spirits, and tells God’s people bluntly, “ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils [demons].” Did Paul know what he was talking about?
We are told in 1 Timothy 4:1-3, “…in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons].” Does this sound like demons don’t exist today? Is this being fulfilled right before our eyes today? Well…??
In James 2:19 we read, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils [demons] also believe, and tremble.” Read also James 3:13-18, noticing especially verse 15. Is your wisdom from the Lord? …or, is it “devilish” [demonish]?” Think about it!
This truth is again set forth in Revelation 9:20-21. This passage reveals that men during the coming Tribulation will actually worship demons. Even after terrible judgments are poured out upon humanity during that time, some will refuse to repent. Folks, we are right at the end of this age, just before the Tribulation is due to begin, and what do we see all about us today? We see millions of people around the world involved in astrology, witchcraft, Satanism, and the New Age movement. These people are using Tarot cards, Ouija boards, pendulums, séances, horoscopes, etc. to contact so-called “spirit guides.” These “spirit guides,” unbeknownst to their “willingly ignorant” victims, are nothing but demon spirits. Many such people are already worshipping their “spirit guides.” Such wicked and abominable worship will only increase during the coming Tribulation period.
In Revelation 16:12-16 John was shown “three unclean spirits” being sent out to “the kings of the earth and of the whole world.” John was specifically told that the “three unclean spirits” were the “spirits of devils” [demons] being sent out for the purpose of gathering the “whole world…..to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Folks, these demon spirits have been working feverishly

for the past 2,000 years to drag mankind downward into such wicked rebellion against God that God Himself will destroy mankind. If you really believe God’s Word, then wouldn’t you agree that mankind has certainly descended downward into deep depravity over these past 2,000 years?
There are many other passages in the New Testament that speak of demons and demonic activity. I cannot include every reference in this brief study. But I have presented sufficient Scriptural evidence to prove to any honest reader that demons are real, and that they are hard at work in this present time in which we live today. So since demons exist, where did they originate? According to God’s inspired Word the demons originated from the “nephilim.” Hello!
For my Preacher Brothers
I have not written this study to deliberately offend any of my preacher brothers, and the Lord God knows the truth of this statement. Yet I refuse to yield one iota on what I know to be the truth of God’s Word. I have been upholding and defending the truth of God’s Word for the past 59 years, and there is no way that I intend to stop defending it. I gladly challenge any preacher who reads this study to take the Scriptures [your opinions, feelings, and theories prove nothing] and refute the truths I have been enabled by the Spirit of God to set forth in this study. This challenge is extended equally to those who fancy themselves to be “scholars.” I will be happy to receive a Scriptural refutation from any reader.
If some preachers would seriously study the Word of God, rather than studying some so-called “scholars” opinion, they could learn these truths the Lord has given to His people for themselves. Preacher, read 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 and 1 John 4:1-3 and tell us whether you really believe these Scriptures? Well…??
Conclusion
Folks, demon spirits are real! Demons are the disembodied spirits of those who were once “nephilim.” And the “nephilim” were the offspring of cohabitation between fallen angels and women, as plainly stated in Genesis 6:4. I prepared this study because I am concerned about the spiritual growth and knowledge of God’s people and about lost people being saved. Many “professing Christians” today, both preachers and laymen, mock and ridicule the very idea of demon spirits being real. That is exactly the way Satan wants it! Satan knows that if people are kept in darkness about his reality, and the reality of his army of demons and wicked fallen angels, then his wicked plans can go forward with little or no opposition. Every preacher or layman who refuses to seriously study God’s Word to learn the truth about this subject is being deceived of Satan, whether they realize it or not. May God have mercy! The churches desperately need preachers and pastors today who will settle for nothing less than the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth of God’s Word. Do I hear an “Amen?” John 16:12-15 is still in the Bible! Claim it!
Folks, as you study the Scripture references given in this study you will find yet other Scriptures that relate to the subject. I have not listed every verse in the Bible that pertains to the subject, but I have attempted to give a good overall picture of the subject. The rest is now between you and the Lord. May God give every reader an abundant measure of His grace as you study is my prayer.
We are living right at the end of this age and demon activity is taking place on every side, including the return of the “nephilim.” Be aware! My prayer is that no lost reader will succumb to the siren song of demonic spirits. Avoid witchcraft [Harry Pottyhead], Satanism, demonism, Astrology, Ouija boards, Tarot cards, horoscopes, psychics, fortune tellers, palm readers, the occult, and all eastern mystical occult religions, as if they were the plague. Truthfully, they are much worse than the plague. The plague might kill your body, but partaking of and being overcome by any of these deceptions of Satan can kill your body and your soul!
Dear reader, if you are not saved I urge you to seek the Lord today. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can save your soul, guide you safely through this present wicked world, and finally deliver you home to glory, John 14:6; Acts 4:12. Read John 3:16, Acts 16:31, and Romans 10:8-13, then act upon these Scriptures by calling upon and placing your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are serious He will hear your prayer and save your soul for time and eternity. If there is any

May the Lord bless this study of His Word to the hearts and minds of all who read it.
