Bible Study Notes Revelation One Verses 1 through 6

The 3 essentials that I have found that need to be understood before one can fully grasp the meaning of the book of Revelation:

Godhead vs Trinity

The Mystery of the Church as given to Paul - The Church Age, Gospel of GRACE bringing in the Church into the branch of Abraham - Knowing the Mystery reveals ISRAEL - not what, but "who" and ISRAEL being comprised of The Church, The Jewish Remnant, The Tribulation Saints, and the Old Testament Saints.

The Book of Revelation is Literal events that will take place culminating in the Millennial Kingdom which is literal and coming in the future as the Kingdom of God, The Bride, The Wife, The Church, all ONE in Israel. * See Millennial Kingdom Study NEW JERUSALEM - Note this of course includes understanding PreMillennialism The Book of Revelation is literal and in the future and not the false teaching of Post Millennialism or AMillennialism (Revelation has already been fulfilled) *

Also need to understand the Hermeneutics throughout:

Literary Interlude - Parenthetical Pause - Set Aside. See notes below. “””Including the failure to understand proper Bible Hermeneutics CONTEXT, EXEGESIS, HARMONIZE SCRIPTURE. Had a Poster Boy experience no coincidence:

Premillennialism, in Christian eschatology, is the belief that Jesus will physically return to the Earth (the Second Coming) before the Millennium, heralding a literal thousand-year golden age of peace. Premillennialism is based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20:1–6 in the New Testament, which describes Jesus's reign in a period of a thousand years.

In Christian eschatology (end-times theology), postmillennialism, or postmillenarianism, is an interpretation of chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation which sees Christ's second coming as occurring after (Latin post-) the "Millennium", a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper. The term subsumes several similar views of the end times, and it stands in contrast to premillennialism

* Amillennialism

is a view in Christian eschatology that denies an earthly millennium of universal righteousness and peace12. It holds that Christ is presently reigning through the Church1, and that the "1000 years" mentioned in Revelation 20:1-6 is a metaphorical reference to the present church age1. Amillennialism expects Christ's return to mark the end of the church age and the beginning of the eternal state1.

I’m not sure on this and for now, I’m going to go with ANGEL means Angel but it’s interesting there are several studies out there that separate a signifying angel from other angels and it has always bothered me why John confused this angel and bowed down to worship him twice.

More smoking gun evidence that the spiritual version of Ezekiel's Temple will be FULLY fulfilled in the Millennial Kingdom existing as NOT a separate Temple but Rather Jesus Christ himself standing in the center of the New Jerusalem: Ezikiel 43:7 and Hebrews 10:1-23 KJB: Regarding the physical fulfillment of Ezekiel's temple whereby the AC builds the literal temple to appeal to and fool the JEWS, look to Daniel 9:27, Daniel Chapter 11, specifically verse 45 and the context of chapter 11, and Daniel 12:11 KJB.

1611 King James Version (KJV)

Chapter 10

1For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21And having an high priest over the house of God;

22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

FULL SPIRITUAL Fulfillment of Ezekiel’s Temple will be the NEW JERUSALEM

1 Corinthians 6:12-16

As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Romans 2:29

“But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.”

King James Version (KJV)

1 Timothy 3:16

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

King James Version (KJV)

Most do not realize that Revelation is Jesus Christ and who we are in Him, He in Us and our Great Promises “AHEAD” for those who love Him and are His.

The Mystery of Godliness is in fact the Gospel of GRACE, The Mystery revealed to Paul which is our SALVATION obtained by Grace through Faith in BELIEF Alone 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Ephesians 2:8,9.

This is accomplished by bringing the Gentiles into the Abrahamic Covenant GRACE and the promises of Abraham.

One in Israel. See the scripture cross references for Ezekiel 40, 42, Revelation 11, Revelation 21, Galatians 6:12-16, Ephesians 2:20- 22, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 1 Peter 2:9 Zechariah 2:

This is the entire scope of what GRACE gives us when we are SAVED By Grace through Faith: THE MYSTERY brings us into our inheritance of the Saints.

IF ONE does not believe in AND/OR denies the Church existing ultimately as ONE in Israel, that the Church is a completely separate entity from Israel now and forever. The stand NAKED at either the BEMA or the GWTJ by these scriptures:

1 Timothy 3:9* 3:16, Romans 2:29, 4:16, 25, 9:5, 10:12, Colossians 1:23, 27, 2:2, 1 Peter 1:12, 2 Peter 3:16, Ephesians 1:9, 3:3-10, 4:8-10, 6:19, Galatians 3;28, 4:4, 4:26, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Acts 10:34, 14:27, John 15:26, Acts 2, 2 Thessalonians 1:10, Luke 2:10-14, 32, Jeremiah 23:5,6,

What is so ASTOUNDING is Hyper-Dispensationalists who claim PAUL only as their Apostle are so blind they can’t see Pauline Epistles HARMONIZE perfectly with Peter and Revelation and Ezekiel and Zechariah.

The Yoke Masters Part 3 - Rodney Beaulieu at Grace Bible Church GBC (

Now about verse 1:

Revelation 1:1

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:”

King James Version (KJV)

While researching the trinitarian implications of this verse, I found an interesting interpretation of it by Beatus of Liébana, an 8th century commentator. He writes:

‘“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him” — that is, to the most blessed Apostle John, “to make known to His servants”, so that what he says may unlock, and what he explains may be made plain. (source)

That is, Beatus interprets "God gave him" to mean "God gave John," as opposed to the rendering of the vast majority of interpreters, who understand it to mean "God gave Jesus." Beatus then sees "his servants" as referring to God's servants, not John's, avoiding one possible pitfall with this interpretation.

Anaphoric, Cataphoric and Exophoric Referencing -

Bible use specifically HEBREW Demonstrative Pronouns can go back or forward.

John’s most likely used Hebrew in his writing but of course we know Revelation was written in Greek. Was John thinking in Hebrew but writing in Greek? Overthinking here perhaps, but it’s interesting to find in my preliminary research that Hebrew use of the DEMONSTRATIVE Pronouns go both ways.

And when we really look at verse 1 it doesn’t matter if God (Jesus Christ gave his REVELATION directly TO John; i.e., the “him” is cataphoric or the “him” is the antecedent.

Trinitarians of course have a separate FIRST PERSON of the TRINITY God (THE FATHER) separately giving Jesus THE SECOND PERSON OF THE TRINITY Something:

We know that the Preposition here is meaning The WORD OF GOD is in fact JESUS CHRIST (reference John 1:1) and the Testimony of Jesus is The WORD = JESUS = Doctrine. Verse 3 is really scary. People do NOT realize that IF they overlook or discard or refuse to understand the book of REvelation, they are NOT BLESSED. Enter the Hyper-Dispensatinalists: They DO NOT UNDERSTAND the Mystery and the crossover from Daniel 7:14 - Revelation 5:9.

The Irony of my refusal to participate with your group is at the heart of the Paul Barnabas disagreement; study the Jerusalem Council and why Paul confronts Peter in Antioch i.e., JUDAIZERS VS Mystery given to Paul = Gentiles are grafted into the branch of Abraham.

Hyper-Dispensationalists struggle mightily with the same. Even Dr Andy Woods who rebukes the Judaizers can't grasp the mystery and parrots the same as they, "Mystery is the Gospel of Grace." (Which it is in part but the same as saying an ICEBERG is only what is seen above the water surface. The entire understanding of the MYSTERY is ONE IN ISRAEL, this is discussed in Romans 2:27-29, Romans 11:17-24, 16:25, Colossians 1:26,27, 2:1-3, Ephesians 2:2-6.

All One in Israel because we're grafted into the branch of Abraham. I have extensive studies on this as you're aware and I sincerely pray you'll be able to study this:

The Armies of Heaven - The Wedding Supper of the Lamb - One in Israel (

Barnabas knew his nephew,soul ties, John Mark went back to Jerusalem. Barnabas even fell in with the Judaizers at Antioch as did Peter.

Literary Interlude Notes:

One of the biggest hurdles I’ve encountered in all my years of studying the Bible is grasping and mapping out one of the major literary devices known as “Literary Interlude” that may or may not function like a parenthetical pause, but most often functions in a complete change of scene,or subject. If you’re unaware of this please do an independent study on Interludes in the Bible.

An interlude in the Bible is a pause or a break in the narration or the music12. It may indicate a change of scene, a shift of focus, or a moment of reflection.

But even before understanding the Literary Interlude, I find a great deal of us need stronger skills in solid bible hermeneutics based on Context, which is often - I find - the biggest culprit in understanding scripture, Exegesis - in part understanding of grammar, syntax, vocabulary, etc, and Harmonizing Scripture with scripture. If you’re not familiar with these terms and you may struggle understanding scripture, please study my study on how to study the KING JAMES BIBLE.*

Understand the Bible - From a Workman Approved unto God by His Grace (

Interlude is used frequently in scripture especially in the Old Testament Prophets. When we read and study the book of Revelation, identifying and understanding the Interlude is essential. Some of the prime examples of interlude are found in Paul’s shift in Romans chapters 9 through 11 which is a major shift of focus, but in Revelation scriptures like Revelation Chapter 12, and Revelation Chapter 21 (The New Jerusalem), the focus of this study, the shift in focus goes into a complete shift of scene and circumstances. which brings to the subject of this study.

To make this as simple as possible, working through an interlude requires STUDY and study is hard work as you’ll find in my study on Understanding the Bible. It is the 3rd step in Bible Hermeneutics - Harmonizing Scripture - that must be used thoroughly.

Just as Revelation 12 stops from the chronological linear record of events from the 7th Trumpet Judgment - Revelation 11:19 The Temple of God (The New Jerusalem while still in Heaven) is in view - to go back in the chronology and identify The Church Raptured (HARPAZO G726) as well as the Tribulation Saints and the Jewish Remnants situation - Revelation 21 sets up the Beginning of the Millenium. If the reader has done even a cursory reading of scripture one has discovered it not unusual to be reading an Old Testament prophet for example talking about present, near future and extreme future events in the same scripture. One also finds that one chapter goes back into time and another goes far into the future. Just as one of hundreds of examples please go to Isaiah Chapter 11. We see here prophecy showing Jesus Christ, the Church (who is grafted into the branch) in verse 1 that sets up the Millennial Kingdom then Isaiah jumps into the Battle of Armageddon and the 2nd Advent of Revelation 19, verses 4,5, on to verse 6 we see we’re looking at the Millennial kingdom and in verse 11 we’re looking at the recovery of the Jewish Remnant that takes place during the middle of the Tribulation and outlined in Revelation 12:6,13.
