Note: Clarification after I have received comment requesting that Matthew 18 be used instead of a Public rebuke:

In Galatians 2:11-14, Paul publicly confronts Peter in Antioch for hypocrisy: Peter fellowshipped with Gentiles until Jewish visitors arrived, then withdrew, fearing criticism and implying Gentiles must Judaize for acceptance. This doctrinal error undermined the gospel of grace, influencing others like Barnabas. Paul rebuked him "before them all," aligning with 1 Timothy 5:20: "Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear." This principle emphasizes public correction for sins affecting the community, deterring widespread error and preserving truth.

In contrast, Matthew 18:15-17 addresses personal offenses between brethren, advocating a stepwise private approach—first alone, then with witnesses, and finally to the church if unrepentant—to foster reconciliation without unnecessary publicity. While Matthew prioritizes discretion for interpersonal wrongs, Galatians and 1 Timothy mandate open rebuke for public doctrinal lapses that risk communal deception, harmonizing accountability with love.

Galatians 2:16

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

King James Version (KJV)

Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

The purpose of this study is to correct in love a dear Brother in Christ.  I have contacted him and have not heard back from him and it is necessary - essential actually and doctrinally sound that I post this study as an example for all of us - certainly myself included:

STICK TO SCRIPTURE KING JAMES BIBLE and not add, take away or change out of the context of "rightly divided" doctrine in striving lawfully whenever we are proclaiming God's word to the world.

I want and always welcome the Brethren to correct me when I am in error and it has happened more than once.

Also I am extremely alarmed this brother is a follower of Bryan Denlinger a very wicked and perverse teacher.

Please know I am not doing to to attack or discredit this very gifted Brother in Christ.  I'm doing this to correct and reprove because I love him.

transcript of lyrics: Highlighted portions are not biblical for someone who is saved by declaration of the preceding words:

I’ve tried it all, nothing can fill this hole…but you, my God. Whether I live, I live for you. By your grace, I’m saved, not through works should any man boast. Your word, my LORD, is a lamp unto my feet. And now I’m down on my knees begging please Jesus save me. I know I’m a wrenched sinner, I can never be good enough on my own. You gave your life on the cross and were raised so we could have peace, peace with I AM, peace with I AM, please… LORD sanctify me! That I can stand before you in the last days. Build me up, give me strength. That I may glorify your name! A light, to my path, give understanding according to thy word. My God, you are, a shield against the enemy. By your grace, I’m saved, through faith and not of myself. This gift, received, that I may glorify you. And now I’m down on my knees begging please Jesus save me. I’ve fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus forgive me. You gave your life on the cross and were raised so we could have peace, peace with I AM, peace with I AM, please… LORD sanctify me! That I can stand before you in the last days. Build me up, give me strength. That I may glorify your name! LORD sanctify me! So when I stand before you in the last days I will be unashamed. I praise thy mighty name! Build me up, give me strength. So when I stand before you in the last days. Build me up, give me strength. That I may praise thy mighty name! I’ve tried it all and Christ Jesus has made me whole.

When I saw Brother Kent's Video Sanctify Me, I got a powerful check in my spirit and asked myself in the spirit.

"Why would I pray asking the Lord to Sanctify me when I am already Sanctified by the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST?

Justified and working out that Salvation through fear and trembling, striving lawfully by His GRACE and NOT by my own faith.

I sent the video to Brother Cameron to double check my alarm and here is our exchange of thought:

Cameron:  "Does he mean with "sanctify" working out our salvation as in  Philippians 2:12, after we become saved by having believed in the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)?

Philippians 2:12

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

It is important to discern our salvation from our sanctification (which is our work in the Lord). 1 Corinthians 15 discerns this very clearly.

My comment:  Amen, great point.  Also

John 17:17, where Jesus prays, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

Yes sanctification is a life long process. However,  at salvation it's accomplished in the spiritual yet we must work it out in the natural.

Therefore, do we ask the Lord to accomplish what has been done or should we pray Galatians 2:16, 20 > Trusting in the finished work of the cross that we are WORKING OUT OUR SALVATION with fear and trembling

Cameron:

The context here is that we are in the world but not of the world, that God wants to keep us from the evil (Satan), and that we have received the glory and love of the Lord Jesus Christ in us and which is working in us. This connects with Galatians 2:16,20 in that our work in the Lord is because not we live this life but it is the Lord that lives in us.

The point is, it is written that we may be one in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Scripture uses the word "may" here, not "might".

John 17:14-26

"14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them."

My Question:

Interesting. Looking at Romans 8:30 KJV:

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Would not sanctification be included since glorification is the ultimate?but it's not mentioned?

Cameron:Comparing Scripture with Scripture, and harmonizing Romans 8:30 with John 17 and Galatians 2:16,20, it is clear sanctification is implied as well by Romans 8:30, even though it is not explicitly stated.

My response:

Okay Praise The Lord... I really needed your confirmation.
