When Jesus deals with His Children It gets Really Real - down to YOU and YOU alone.

Luke 22:31

“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

King James Version (KJV)

Please open and read with me the entire chapter of Luke 22 to understand the context of what is happening here.

 Preface:

When we study the King James Bible it is imperative we understand what we are reading by DIVIDING (opening and examining each and every scripture.

The meaning of Rightly dividing in accordance with 2 Timothy 2:15 KJB is NOT cutting out sections of the bible as not applicable to the Church as preach the HYPER DIVIDERS - DISPENSATIONALISTS.

Rightly Dividing The Word of Truth is NOT of the HYPER Dividers

As I go through in detail how to examine the scriptures, we must consistently use the simple three rules of solid biblical hermeneutics:  CONTEXT. EXEGESIS, and HARMONIZE SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE.

As we know - proper exegesis entails in large part understanding the Grammar and Vocabulary of the scripture. All of this detail here in my study:

How to Study and Understand the Bible - From a Workman Approved unto God by His Grace

In order to fully understand this study, we are going to have to break down each word and focus primarily for on the Pronouns in the context of the scriptures here in Luke 21:31,32 KJB.

Here is an excerpt of from the above study breaking down Luke 21:31

Luke chapter 22 verses 31-32:

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have YOU, that he may sift YOU as wheat:

32 But I have prayed for THEE, that THY faith fail not: and when THOU art converted, strengthen THY brethren.

If you don’t know the distinctions in the pronouns you won’t know who Jesus is talking to. You could easily believe that Jesus is telling Simon Peter that Satan wants to sift him (Peter) like wheat. But He is not. The YOU in the first verse is plural, so Jesus is telling Simon Peter that Satan wants to sift the GROUP of apostles like wheat, not just Peter. In the second verse THEE, THY and THOU are used. These are all singular pronouns so we know that Jesus is speaking directly to Simon Peter.

We could render this in our less perfect English of today as:

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have YOU ALL, that he may sift ALL of YOU as wheat:

32 But I have prayed for YOU (Simon), that YOUR faith fail not: and when YOU are converted, strengthen YOUR brethren.

 Background:

While working on the study posted on LOVE in the King James Bible in the study below, I realized that I was compelled to do a study specifically on Luke 21:31,32 and how it so related to our battle and suffering here IN this fallen world and how we look for our blessed Hope and the PARADISE promised to us. In returning to our FORMER state before the FALL as when God who we know is Jesus Christ walked with Adam in the Garden.

Love and Hate in the King James Bible #doctrinematters #kingjamesbible

Jesus in the here and now knows this of course and yet knows he has to deal with each of us personally IN THIS FALLEN WORLD THAT WE ARE NOT A PART OF AND YET LIVE IN IT.

In other words: After we are saved, we go through the SANCTIFICATION and that's when things get REALLY REAL and VERY PERSONAL between Jesus and each of us individually.

Additionally...

I believe it no coincidence that while putting together these notes for this Blog I was compelled to reference the MYSTERY given to Paul by Jesus Christ when I read Zephaniah Chapter 3 KJB talking about the RESTORATION of the REMNANT of Israel (Zechariah 13:8,9 KJB) - we know will be the JEWISH REMANT who is part of ONE IN ISRAEL ONE IN CHRIST - The Wife, The Bride One in Christ The Church, The Tribulation Saints and the Old Testament Saints. It is compelling to think of how half of our membership must go through a literal hell on earth before their eyes are opened to the TRUTH.

Study:

SANCTIFICATION aka Working Out Our Salvation with Fear and Trembling is a most personal EXPERIMENTAL EXPERENCIAL Relationship imaginable.

From our previous study we understand that Jesus - in the full context of Luke 21 the FAKE Judas has been sent on his mission and now we see Jesus Telling Peter Personally that Satan will SIFT him and all the other apostles like wheat and that He Jesus Christ is now PERSONALLY addressing Peter in a powerful PERSONAL address here below:

Note:  you in early modern English = You = Second Person plural. Thou = You (second person) Singular.  Thee = To You (second person) Singular; Thy = Your.

We then witness the unthinkable as Peter sets himself up in stupidity by claiming he will never let Jesus down which we know within a day Peter will deny Jesus Christ 3 times.  This sets up the awesome dialogue I go over in detail in my LOVE study in John 21 KJB.

WHAT'S THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE?
After the HOLY GHOST is in Peter after Pentecost Peter is now WALKING BY THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST and WALKING IN HIS FAITH IN JESUS.

Essential Study:

Luke 22:31

“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

King James Version (KJV)

Luke 22:32 (KJV) says:

"But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."

CONVERT = CHANGE TRANSFORM TURN AROUND. (Etymology).  Greek Strongs G1994  - Filled with the HOLY GHOST in which one to return back to the love and obedience of God - RESTORED RENEWED = PENTECOST.

We're reminded of our former state when Jesus Christ walked with Adam in the GARDEN of EDEN.  PARADISE.

We know from other scripture and placing this in the context of Luke 22, this is before Pentecost and Peter still had not been filled with the Holy Ghost. This does not necessarily mean that Peter was not saved which I'm sure he was based on:

Matthew 16:16-17: Peter's Confession of Christ "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

"John 20:21-22: Jesus Breathes the Holy Spirit on the Disciples "Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:"

and comparing it to Romans 8:28:

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

And:

John 15:16, where Jesus says, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."
