The functions of our spirit and our soul #discipleship
1 Corinthians 2:13
“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
King James Version (KJV)
Romans 8:9
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
King James Version (KJV)
John 16:13
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
King James Version (KJV)
1 Corinthians 2:15
“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.”
King James Version (KJV)
Colossians 2:8
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
King James Version (KJV)
See where this led me this morning:
How to answer the Scoffer: "Where's your PROOF Christian?" (thethirdheaventraveler.com)
Quote: Is spirit the soul or does spirit function as the soul?
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
We know that God is spirit and invisible and no man has seen and Jesus Christ is the VISIBLE IMAGE of God - John 4:24, Colossians 1:15, we know that the Spirit of God who is the Spirit of Christ who is the inner existence of Jesus Christ just like I see you in person but can not see your spirit and soul John 14:9.
Trying to get more into the "what" would lead us down the wrong path. We have to stay with doctrine as follows:

Thanks after reading this (I haven't read links for now, just your response) I would say that God is Spirit, Soul and Body and we are spirit, soul and body and it is good to say that spirit functions as the soul while the spirit itself has another functions than the soul
I would say that God is Spirit, Soul and Body and we are spirit, soul and body and it is good to say that spirit functions as the soul while the spirit itself has another functions than the soul .
My response.
Wouldn't it be more aligned precisely to say the Spirit functions AS = performs or works through, influences the actions, activity of the SOUL?

Brother Cameron would you consider adding comment to this?
Cameron Moshfegh's response:
Amen! This stays with doctrine and does not slide into what Romans 1:20-23 warns about.
Romans 1:20-23
"20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."
The wrong path is that the carnal mind, trying to profess wisdom (Romans 1:22), vainly imagines (Romans 1:21) the reverse of "God having created us in His image" and changes the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man (Romans 1:23).
