Historical Orthodoxy
Historical Orthodoxy
Based on available information, "Historical Orthodoxy" appears to refer to the traditional and longstanding doctrines, practices, and beliefs within Christianity—particularly Eastern Orthodoxy—that have been preserved and transmitted through church history, often rooted in the decisions of early ecumenical councils and apostolic traditions. This term emphasizes the continuity of "right belief" (from the Greek orthos meaning "straight" or "correct," and doxa meaning "belief" or "glory") from the early church to the present, distinguishing it from later innovations, heresies, or modern reinterpretations.
Key Aspects of Historical Orthodoxy
Religious and Theological Foundation: It is centered on the core teachings affirmed by the first seven ecumenical councils (from Nicaea in 325 AD to the Second Council of Nicaea in 787 AD), which defined essential Christian doctrines such as the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, and the nature of salvation. These councils established the boundaries of orthodox faith against various heresies, like Arianism, which denied Christ's full divinity.
Historical Continuity: Orthodoxy traces its origins directly to the Apostolic Community founded by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, viewing itself as the unbroken continuation of the early church without major schisms like those in Western Christianity (e.g., the Protestant Reformation). This includes a dispersion of Orthodox Christians worldwide in modern times, influenced by emigration from regions like Greece and the Middle East.
Broader Philosophical Elements: In some scholarly views, historical orthodoxy encompasses not just doctrinal correctness but a deeper connection to divine reality, including:
Definition by a higher source of revelation (e.g., Scripture and Tradition).
A means of grace for spiritual transformation.
Personal verification through experience and realization.
Transmission via sacred forms like liturgy, art, and teachings that shape civilizations.
Distinction from Other Uses: While "orthodoxy" can sometimes refer to established views in historiography (e.g., traditional interpretations of events like the Cold War, challenged by revisionism), the phrase "historical orthodoxy" is predominantly used in religious contexts to denote timeless Christian truths, often aligning more closely with early beliefs than with contemporary variations.

Background Information to what brought me here to talk about Wes Huff:
While attending a "Bible Study" in a Twitter X space I was disturbed by the extensive use of perverted bible translations. I patiently brought out the errors and urged the group to check for themselves, Some were deeply moved others were unconvinced and then of course the enemy will bring in that member who comes against choosing a certain translation and that the GOSPEL is more important and then learning about deep bible study and apologetics comes afterwards. There of course is an element of truth to this but nevertheless the King James Bible must be considered the FINAL AUTHORITY.

Another video this group in the Twitter X Space promoting Wes Huff may have watched gives even more proof of the apostasy of the ESV translation: watch which

Wow! Tons to unpack here. I have gone through this Wes Huff “Apologetics”video carefully. In fact because of the layers of depth here I have to now go back through in more detail.
https://youtu.be/sQP2jnDyeAE?si=Pnhr4xUJKtEiO7b7
Wes’ intellect and knowledge as well as this panel is impressive to say the least. Consequently, this has required me to go deeper than previously thought. I am now working on a detailed response which *Ironically I will be exercising extensively doctrinally based* “apologetics” to defend the faith in accordance with Titus 1:9 KJB, "Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to and to convince the gainsayers." Examine ourselves (doctrine explained)
https://thethirdheaventraveler.com/2025/01/let-us-examine-ourselves-gospel-kjv.html
What’s even more ironic is I will be using another Wes video I watched to showcase another perfect example of how we should not use corrupted bible translations to contend for the faith.
https://thethirdheaventraveler.com/2025/07/the-agony-of-listening-to-scribes.html
Subsequently, in the context of this video by Wes, my focus - while always bearing 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJB in mind bolstered by Jude 1:3,4, 1 John 4:1-3 KJB, I will be refuting this video using - upholding sound teaching against contradictions to doctrine - stemming primarily from Colossians 2:8 KJB which literally goes all the way back to the Garden whereby the Serpent said unto Eve, “Yeah, hath God said,...” Genesis 3:1 KJB.
The Serpent of course was not asking “what” God said, but rather setting up the trap to “corrupt what God said. And if you would please bear with me, this has come to me as the ULTIMATE Irony because I was “personally” the object lesson of this exact subject exactly one year ago today, July 30, 2024. This is the study written by my bible student who had only been saved for a year at the time. The Lord used my own bible student - a gifted bio chemical scientist who walked away from a lucrative career in Switzerland to follow Christ to take me out to the woodshed after I made a significant doctrinal error in one of my teachings.
Here is Brother Moshfegh’s study: h

And ultimately I pray Wes receives this knowing that WHOMEVER GOD LOVES HE CORRECTS. Proverbs 3:12 “For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.” King James Version (KJV) Blessings to you all. Blessings to you all.

False teachers throw around the key words all day long:

They profess but their fruit is corrupt.
See detailed studies on FRUIT INSPECTION.
HANG THEIR DOCTRINE ON ONE WORD "BELIEVE" cherry picked and then never compare with other scriptures or harmonize it properly. This is proven in my study:
CASE STUDY OF FRUIT INSPECTION - What about Don?
Romans 10:9 does not harmonize with 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJB but it certainly does for the Tribulation Saints - including the Jewish Remanent found in Acts 2:21 and Joel 2:32 KJB.
However, we can see a major clue here that if someone confesses with their mouth anything related to their SALVATION WITHOUT .... REPEAT WITHOUT TRULY HAVING THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN THEM it is ONLY WORDS AND THEY WILL DIE AND WITHER AND WALK AWAY FROM THE FAITH - FALL FROM GRACE just as in the KINGDOM PARABLES.
WHY? It was their Faith and NOT the FAITH OF Jesus Christ. Please know and understand the essential paramount importance of the preposition OF. In my studies in Detail about how perverted Bibles preach another Gospel. Looking at Galatians 2:16, 2:20.

1 John 4:2-3 (KJV): "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
Romans 10:9 (KJV): "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Terminology:
BELIEVE: Oxford English Dictionary page 196 in the context of the GOSPEL = To give Credence and Accept as TRUE. In the strictest terms the word Credence here comes from the Latin which means a very deep rooted (of intuitively KNOWING something) KNOWLEDGE and to KNOW.
To Know:
To know in the Oxford English Dictionary on page 1550 in the Context here means: Taken - apprehended by the MIND as EXISTING AS FACT of what has been REVEALED.
That's why for example in Spanish we have 2 distinct words for the Verb "To Know" One is a superficial work of the mind SOUL. CONOCER (conscious exercise). Whereas the DEEPER meaning of a SPIRITUAL profound nature is found in the word SABER . This word SABER is closely linked with WISDOM - meaning something more profound that man.
It is here we must stop and very carefully and fully comprehend this study of how THE MIND (SOUL) only UNDERSTANDS what the SPIRIT KNOWS.

Book Review of The Air We Breathe Glen Scriptner
Book Identification and Overview
The query appears to refer to the book The Air We Breathe: How We All Came to Believe in Freedom, Kindness, Progress, and Equality by Glenn Scriptner" . Published in 2022 by The Good Book Company, this work is an apologetic exploration of how Christianity has profoundly shaped modern Western values. Scrivener, an ordained Anglican minister and director of Speak Life (a UK-based evangelistic organization), argues that values like equality, compassion, and freedom are not innate or secular inventions but derive from the teachings of Jesus, becoming so pervasive they are like "the air we breathe." The book targets three audiences: "nones" (non-religious), "dones" (ex-Christians), and "wons" (committed Christians), blending history, philosophy, and theology to demonstrate Christianity's cultural impact. It won awards from The Gospel Coalition and Christianity Today in evangelism and apologetics.
Content Examination
The book is structured around an introduction contrasting ancient and modern worldviews, followed by chapters examining seven core values, and concluding with reflections on their implications. It traces each value historically, showing pre-Christian societies (e.g., Roman Empire) often lacked them—e.g., equality was absent in hierarchical ancient cultures, compassion was selective, and consent was irrelevant in power dynamics. Scrivener uses vivid anecdotes, such as the moral outrage over George Floyd's death, to illustrate how these values feel "natural" today but stem from Christianity's "moral earthquake" via Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
Equality (Ch. 2): Contrasts Genesis's creation narrative (humans as image-bearers) with ancient myths, arguing Christianity elevated the worth of all, influencing abolition and human rights.
Compassion (Ch. 3): Highlights Jesus' parables (e.g., Good Samaritan) as pioneering universal kindness, countering "survival of the fittest."
Consent (Ch. 4): Positions Jesus' teachings on marriage and sex (e.g., Matthew 19) as the original sexual revolution, promoting mutual respect over exploitation.
Enlightenment (Ch. 5): Challenges "Dark Ages" myths, showing medieval Christianity fostered reason and persuasion over force.
Science (Ch. 6): Argues Christian assumptions (e.g., orderly creation via logos in John 1) birthed the scientific method.
Freedom (Ch. 7): Discusses Christianity's mixed history with slavery but credits it for abolition, rooted in Galatians' equality in Christ.
Progress (Ch. 8): Traces optimism to biblical eschatology (e.g., Isaiah 9), warning of secular distortions leading to 20th-century horrors.
Later chapters address "The Victory of the Victim" (Ch. 9), critiquing detached "kingdom without the king" leading to cultural wars, and "Choose Your Miracle" (Ch. 10), urging readers to weigh Christianity's explanatory power. The style is engaging, rigorous yet accessible, with chronological narratives and cultural references.
Theological Examination
Theologically, the book is evangelical and apologetic, rooted in Reformed influences (aligned with The Gospel Coalition). It centers on the gospel: Jesus' cross as shameful yet redemptive, and resurrection as unbelievable yet world-changing, per 1 Corinthians 1:18-31. Scrivener posits Christianity as the coherent foundation for Western morals, haunting culture (per Flannery O'Connor) even in secular forms. Key doctrines include human dignity from imago Dei (Genesis 1), grace over merit, and eschatological hope. It critiques postmodern relativism and atheistic "magical thinking," arguing detached values lead to individualism, victimhood, and misery. Strengths: Confident evangelism, historical evidence, cultural relevance; weaknesses: May oversimplify complexities (e.g., church's slavery record) for brevity. Overall, it renews Christian confidence while inviting skeptics to reconsider fai
The Antithesis of Doctrine in the final authority of the King James Bible:
Wes Huff the Trinitarian telling us about his perverse Christology of The Second Person of the Trinity.
It seems Wes hasn't read the King James Bible

Isaiah 45:5 KJB - "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me."
John 14:9 KJB Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Acts 17:11
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
King James Version (KJV)
From the very opening Wes tells us he learned to build his apologetics by HISTORY - and throughout carefully, masterfly builds in layers of Philosophy, Tradition of Man, and Vain Deceit contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the apostles - most demonstrative being Paul battling the JUDAIZES.
Philippians 3:2
“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.”
King James Version (KJV)
Paul builds on Jesus' direct clashes with Pharisees, who elevated traditions (e.g., ceremonial washings, sabbath keeping, food etc.) over God's commands, making the Word "of none effect" (Matthew 15:6).
Although Wes throws in some - corrupted Bible verses I will discuss here in detail - he NEVER bothers to tell his audience that his PHILOSOPHY is not based on the WORD OF GOD and ultimately Jesus Christ.
Of course we know Wes uses ESV and other corrupted translations and believes the LXX is the oldest complete bible.
Time 8:41 Wes quotes Colossians 4:5, 6 PARTIALLY from the ESV and is extremely different from the KJV and this again is IRONY because "Graciously" is vastly different from GRACE in the KJV and then comes the MAJOR misunderstanding of the word SALT because the corrupted translations leave out the reference to Leviticus 2:13:85
GRACE KJV = G5485 The spiritual condition of one GOVERNED by the power of Divine GRACE
Grace embodies the spiritual condition of one governed by the power of divine grace in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible (Greek: G5485, charis).
Believers live by "the faith of the Son of God" (Galatians 2:20), governed by His power, not self-effort. This contrasts carnal reasoning: "comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (1 Corinthians 2:13), rejecting man's philosophy and the enmity of the fleshly mind against God (Romans 8:7). Grace nullifies self-righteousness, revealing Christ's indwelling sufficiency alone, unrelated to mere human graciousness.
"Gracious" entered Middle English around 1300, borrowed from Old French "gracios" (also spelled "gracieux"), which itself derives from Latin "grātiōsus," meaning "full of grace," "favorable," "agreeable," or "beloved." The Latin term breaks down as follows:
Root: "grātia," meaning "favor," "kindness," "esteem," "thanks," or "grace" (as in charm or goodwill).
Suffix: "-ōsus," an adjectival ending indicating "full of" or "abounding in."
This makes "grātiōsus" literally "full of favor" or "endowed with grace." It is equivalent in structure to the English formation "grace" + "-ous."
Historical Development
Early Usage (c. 1300 onward): In Middle English, it often referred to divine or godly attributes, such as being merciful or benevolent, especially in religious contexts (e.g., "gracious God"). By the late 14th century, it extended to human qualities like politeness and kindness.
Evolution of Meaning: Initially tied to "favor" or "mercy," it shifted toward "courteous" or "pleasing" by the 16th century, reflecting social grace. Related forms like "graciously" (adverb, c. 1300) mean "favorably" or "with goodwill," while "graciousness" (noun, late 14th century) evolved from "attractiveness" to "politeness."
Biblical Connections: In English translations of the Bible, "gracious" often renders Hebrew "ḥannûn" (meaning "compassionate" or "favoring") or Greek "charis" (meaning "grace" or "kindness"), linking to themes of divine mercy, though this is conceptual rather than direct etymological influence on the English word.
This verse does not contain "salt" in the ESV main text but does in KJV due to a manuscript difference:
KJV: For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
ESV: For everyone will be salted with fire.
Key Differences and Note: The ESV follows manuscripts that omit the second clause ("and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt"), which references Leviticus 2:13. Many early manuscripts lack this phrase, so ESV excludes it from the main text but may note it in footnotes. This results in "salt" appearing twice in KJV but not at all in ESV's rendering here. The verse speaks metaphorically of purification or judgment.
1452: Apologetic methods
Epistemology is a branch of philosophy concerned with the theory of knowledge. It explores questions such as: What is knowledge? How do we acquire it? What are its sources (e.g., reason, experience, intuition)? What are the limits and justification of beliefs? The term derives from Greek "epistēmē" (knowledge) and "logos" (study of). Key figures include Plato, who distinguished knowledge from opinion, and Descartes, who emphasized doubt and certainty. In modern contexts, it intersects with fields like science, psychology, and AI, addressing skepticism, truth, and justification.
