The Tale of 2 Christians - Jacob and Esau; and the temptation to be as gods
Genesis 3:5
“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
King James Version (KJV)
Matthew 7:23
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
King James Version (KJV)
Preface:
What inspired this study: The following commentary from Brother Cameron Moshfegh:
Yesterday evening I went to the cinema with the neuropsychologist colleague from work.
He had suggested to go watch the new Alien movie (Alien: Romulus). So we watched Alien: Romulus, which like all movies in the Alien series, including the Prometheus movie, have a deeply luciferian theme.
It doesn't seem like a coincident that right now when all these spiritual attacks, a neuropsychologist asks me to go watch Alien:Romulus with him.
The movie immediately triggered those feelings in me of "falling short career-wise" and made me remember that during my scientific career on pluripotent stem cells and germ stem cells, I too had this spirit of "to be as gods" driving me.
* See the Tale of 2 Christians in essential background studies
However, while the movie pointed to inner strongholds in me that still need to be overcome, I felt this deep trust in the Lord and Him in me, and not being lost but that I'm saved, and that I'm now living by His faith and walking after His Spirit.
During my scientific career I always wanted my work to be truthful, with integrity, and not evil, and to help others with a strong fascination for the diversity and abilities of living beings.
However, there was another spirit that came in and really took lead, which I believe I received already early during my childhood through my fascination with the diversity and impressive abilities of living beings, science, technology, and science fiction.
And that spirit is "to be as gods".
As I got further in academic my career, I not only increasingly clashed with the untruthfulness, lack of integrity and money worship of this world but also that spirit of "to be as gods" appeared more and more wrong, because I realized that it always turned into some kind of fraud, exploitation, theft, and murder, and that it was actually against the truth, and ultimately evil.
This short video clip of a fictional TED talk of the fictional character "Peter Weyland", the head of the company in the Alien movies, was produced as part of the Prometheus movie but then deleted and later released as bonus content.
It perfectly describes the this spirit of "to be as gods" that was driving me in my scientific career. It's deeply luciferian:

Also, when you (informed me of major bio tech job offerings in the US in my area of expertise and education) , that stirred up those same feelings and memories as when I watched Alien:Romulus yesterday evening.
My own job situation is deeply connected to what I wrote you about Alien:Romulus / Prometheus and the fictional Peter Weyland TED talk, and this job situation is not resolved yet. And that it's not resolved, causes me great emotional suffering.
Please watch the Peter Weyland TED talk as I have posted you the YouTube link above, and know this spirit was deeply and for a long long time ruling over my thoughts and actions in my career, as it is now really ruling industry and academia, but then it increasingly conflicted me as I have explained.
When I was not saved yet, and a hyperrational man, I could not yet really grasp its spiritual dimension, but that spirit was there ruling over my thoughts and actions.
Now that I'm saved and have matured spiritually in Christ, and in the study of the word of God, I can discern it spiritually.
And now it is a huge unresolved inner stronghold in which core parts of my life are entangled that causes me immense emotional suffering.
Amen.
Oh yes, when you've had the training for 23 years, understood it, excelled in it, were affected by it on the deepest level, suffered through it with passion, then you have a different level of appreciation of what Paul suffered.
I am keeping a journal of these experiences.
In the very beginning of the Peter Weyland TED talk, before stepping on the stage, Peter Weyland murmurs the following sentence:
"I am a law only for my kind. I am no law for all."
*See the meaning of TEMPTATION.
This sentence is deeply luciferian and represents Satan's perversion of 1 Corinthians 2, in which he replaces the Spirit of God with the spirit of Satan.
And even though the Peter Weyland TED talk is fictional, its words are more real than what most real people speak, because its words come with power.
Compared to God, Satan is feeble, but he has real power. So what Peter Weyland speaks really is what the wielders of power of this world speak.
When you're looking at and listening to Peter Weyland, you are looking at that CEO of a multibillion dollar company who asks you to be a hypocrite in rebellion against God and a lukewarm Christian, who wants to invest in your passion and love for the riches of the world, and in your love for Satan, and he wields the power to change your life according to the rudiments of this world with real life consequences such as health, job status, financial status, etc.
Paul talks about exactly this, about words that come with power in 1 Corinthians 4, particularly in 1 Corinthians 4:18-20.
1 Corinthians 4:18-20
"18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power."
And this is also why Paul says in 2 Timothy 2:5, when striving for masteries, to strive lawfully.
2 Timothy 2:5
"And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully."
Listen carefully again to the Peter Weyland TED talk. It opposes 2 Timothy 2:5.
So this Peter Weyland TED talk reveals in real life the power of Satan opposing the power of God. That makes it so terrifying.
That's the suffering I'm experiencing, dear Brother.

Lucifer and Prometheus a work by R.J. Werblowsky
The figures of Lucifer and Prometheus share intriguing similarities, often explored in literature and mythology.
Lucifer, in Christian tradition, is often associated with the fallen angel who defied God and was cast out of heaven. This story is famously depicted in John Milton’s Paradise Lost, where Lucifer’s rebellion and subsequent fall are central themes.
Prometheus, from Greek mythology, is a Titan who defied Zeus by stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humanity. This act of rebellion and his subsequent punishment (being bound to a rock where an eagle eats his liver daily) symbolize his defiance and sacrifice for the benefit of mankind.
R.J. Zwi Werblowsky’s book Lucifer and Prometheus delves into the psychological and literary parallels between these two figures. Werblowsky argues that Milton’s Satan in Paradise Lost shares many attributes with Prometheus, such as their rebellious nature and their roles as bringers of knowledge or enlightenment12

The TEMPTATION - The Trial
tempt (v.)
c. 1200, tempten, of the devil, flesh, etc., "draw or entice to evil or sin, lure (someone) from God's law; be alluring or seductive," from Old French tempter, tenter (12c.) and directly from Latin temptare "to feel, try out, test; attempt to influence," a variant of tentare "handle, touch, try, test."
In the book of James, it states that God does not tempt us. However, in the Lord’s prayer, we say "but do not lead us into temptation". What should I understand?
You should understand both scriptures as ALL scripture is inspired by God 2 Timothy 3:16. The study requirement is in understanding God’s word. Subsequently, we must understand God’s use of the Paradox in finding the greater truth between two seemingly different or even contradictory scriptures. God’s word never contradicts because God can not lie. Therefore, when examining both of these scriptures next to each other they are both true and the truth from resolving this paradox is as follows:
- God never tempts us, James 1:13 KJB. We must pray God not lead us into temptation. Matthew 6:13 KJB.
- Matthew 6:13 KJB is literally a request to the Lord to keep us away from anything that might lead us toward being tempted into sin. If we focus on the phrase “LEAD us” in the context of Matthew 6 KJB we find the following:
G1519 Preposition “to” a place of. This is key in understanding there is a choice of man’s involvement which leads to man’s heart either willing to follow God or his own way. When we fully examine the noun temptation in context we must examine the verb form: tempt (v.)
The focus must be placed on understanding temptation as “to lure someone from God’s Law. And to be under the influence of in the ATTEMPT to influence. God would never lure someone away from his law and God will never attempt to influence us because of our FREE WILL. Mankind has a choice to choose God or the Devil. There are no 3rd choices.
This requires us to apply solid bible hermeneutics to take context, exegesis of the grammar and find the harmonizing scripture. We find the harmonizing scripture as follows:
This passage clarifies that temptation comes from our own desires (based on the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden as we’re born of the first Adam) not from God.
1 Corinthians 10:13:
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
This verse reassures believers that God provides a way to endure and escape temptation.2 Peter 2:9:
“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.”
Here, it is emphasized that God can deliver the righteous from temptations.
Regarding examples where God allows people to sin if they willfully desire, the Bible does provide instances where God permits individuals to follow their own sinful inclinations as a form of judgment or to fulfill a greater purpose
:Romans 1:24-28:
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves… And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”
This passage describes how God allows people to follow their sinful desires as a consequence of their rejection of Him.
Psalm 81:11-12:
“But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.”
Here, God permits the Israelites to follow their own stubborn hearts as a result of their disobedience.
