Reasonable SERVICE What is IT? Am I doing IT?

Reasonable Service What is It? Am I doing it?

Title by Sister Jennifer Brown

This work is a joint study of our uncle Charlie, Jennifer Brown, Sharon Tweet, Quandra Crawford, Sister Kristianna, Jon Lutz, James Van Patten and Andrew Sheets For the Glory of Christ Jesus our Lord Forever. Amen!

Romans 12:1

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies  of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

King James Version (KJV)

Romans 12:2

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

King James Version (KJV)

Philippians 2:5

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

King James Version (KJV)
Philippians 2:7

“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”
Reasonable Service

Reasonable is an adjective - modifies or provides more detail about the noun it describes as in our case: SERVICE:

Reasonable in the Oxford English Dictionary page 2432: Endowed (bestowed, portioned given) with REASON

Reason Oxford English Dictionary page 2431: To think, calculate A fact or state of, correct.

Hebrew Reason H3198 Yakach Correct with a strong hand

Reasonable Strongs G3050 In Context spiritual - pertaining to the Soul

Oxford English Dictionary page 2432 Reasonable - “Of the SOUL

Further in context we understand that Reasonable comes from Sound Judgment Deliberate Decision of the mind - Rational.

From the faculty of the SOUL - The MIND.*

We understand in this noun phrase REASONABLE SERVICE to mean

SERVICE GOVERNED BY CORRECT DOCTRINE OF THE WORD OF GOD

*This correlate perfectly with STRIVING LAWFULLY. See further in study below. 2 Timothy 2:4

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6

The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

7

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

9

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10

Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

12

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

13

If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

14

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17

And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18

Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

20

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

See the stark examples we have in scripture of how the Kingdom of God (Spiritual Kingdom which will become the Physical Kingdom of Heaven during the Millennial Reign is within each and every human being's conscience - knowledge - mind; i.e., we all know there is GOD ALMIGHTY RULING and JUDGING ALL. OUR CALLING “going above and beyond our SALVATION” to GAIN our position in Christ and RULE with him will be BASED ON OUR WORKS. This is precisely what Paul meant by working out OUR SALVATION with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12 KJB.

See these studies.

However, in Context along with harmonizing scripture we see clearly this is not the UNREGENERATE CARNAL MIND but rather the Reason of the SOUL - MIND RENEWED by Jesus Christ. Thank God for Brother (Uncle) Charlie for bringing this to the forefront - the centerpiece of our study of Romans Chapter 12 verses 1 and 2.

What is Reasonable Service?

Service Strongs 2999 - Rendered for Hire

service (n.1)

c. 1100, "celebration of public religious worship according to prescribed forms or methods," from Old French servise "act of homage; servitude; service at table; from Latin servitium (in Medieval Latin also servicium) "slavery, condition of a slave, servitude," also "slaves collectively" (in Medieval Latin "service"), from servus "slave" (see serve (v.)).

The meaning "act of serving, occupation of an attendant servant" is attested from c. 1200, as is that of "assistance, help; a helpful act."

Meanings "state of being bound to undertake tasks for someone or at someone's direction" and "labor performed or undertaken for another" employment as a soldier;" hence "the military as an occupation" (1706).

There’s a strong connection with military service and the connection Paul makes to military service in our service to the Lord. This connection is with SERVANT -

THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL: Paul writes in

1 Corinthians 9:19

“For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.”

King James Version (KJV)

Note: See Inheriting the Kingdom REWARDS REIGNING WITH CHRIST Position in the Kingdom. Even those in the Church of Philadelphia saved Saints will still be judged at the BEMA for our works and REWARDS Read Revelation 3:11, 12 carefully.

SOLDIER.

In addition to our roles as servant- soldier, I'm reminded of Acts 6:1-4

Acts6:1¶And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

The early church had grown so much that there was, to a degree, some who were neglected in the daily ministration. Now what the daily ministration entailed isn't specifically mentioned, but in verse two, the disciples were SERVING TABLES; meals were being served, evidently.

Ambassador

Saint know your Authority and Responsibility as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

There, I strongly believe, is a strong connection (type and shadow) of REASONABLE SERVICE to our current roles as ambassadors and how we perform as ambassadors to our INHERITANCE.

KINGDOM OF GOD WITHIN US: Luke 17:21

NOT IN OUR MIDST as the NASB and other perverted translations state:

AMONG OR IN THE MIDST OF THEM...This is precisely the major contention I had with Dr. Woods. He maintained that the NASB was a better translation because it uses the word AMONG in the MIDST OF THEM - whereas the KING JAMES uses the word WITHIN them. I will quote precisely what I quoted to Dr. Woods in the Link I sent you. Let me make a short paraphrase here: The Word WITHIN is not within and or among. The etymology of the word WITHIN literally means: AGAINST THE INSIDE of which literally means AMONG THE INSIDE OF in other words mixed inside of THE PERSON'S SOUL-MIND. KNOWLEDGE.See the Dr. Woods study where I go into great detail of the functions and faculties of the SPIRIT SOUL AND BODY. How even an unregenerate (lost soul) still possesses a spirit albeit unregenerated. But the unregenerated spirit still has the full faculty of CONSCIENCE (RIGHT/WRONG) and INTUITION (a 6th sense sensing the spiritual things of this world. Sadly a lost soul does not have the 3rd faculty of the spirit which is COMMUNION - communication with the Holy Spirit. The lost soul only has communion with the forces of darkness and highly evolved lost souls can communicate with high ranking demonic entities - witches, sorcerers. etc. So how could the Pharisees know there's a Kingdom of God that RULES the WORLD UNIVERSE and will REIGN. The answer PROOF IS FOUND IN ROMANS 1:18 KJV:
Romans 1:18

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;”

King James Version (KJV)
Romans 1:19

“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.”

King James Version (KJV)
Romans 1:20

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

King James Version (KJV)
within (adv., prep.)

Old English wiĂ°innan "within, from within," literally "against the inside," see with + in.

within | Etymology of within by etymonline

When we research the word "against" We find it means in context AMIDST THE INSIDE of them. MIXED INSIDE OF THEM.

AGAINST THE INSIDE of which literally means AMONG THE INSIDE OF in other words mixed inside of THE PERSON'S SOUL-MIND.

The Oxford Hardcopy Dictionary page 3802 states:

1. Within Preposition: IN the INNER PART. The inside OF. INTO the Interior of. 3. Among with IN the possession; INTO THE MIDST OF WITHIN ONESELF * 5. In the INNER BEING SOUL to mind - thought. This is HUGE because when we go into scripture and when we go through the 3 steps in sound Hermeneutics* *we find this is precisely what Jesus is talking about with the Pharisees. Jesus says to the Pharisees: " Hey the KINGDOM of God (SPIRITUAL KINGDOM) IS IN YOUR INNER BEING YOUR CONSCIENCE.*** Romans 1:18-20 proves it. Look at Luke 24:32:
King James Version

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (heart in this context refers to SOUL responding to the SPIRIT's CONSCIENCE) What is amazing is Luke 24:32 is listed in the OXFORD English Hardcopy dictionary on PAGE 3802 for the definition of WITHIN.

* in the midst of ONESELF means to be inside your body which means the same as in the midst of you (inside you). IT DOES NOT MEAN AMONGST.

** In my detailed study on how to study the Bible please see the simple formula of hermeneutics is : CONTEXT, EXEGESIS (grammar, syntax, vocabulary) and HARMONIZE SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE.

https://www.thethirdheaventraveler.com/2022/04/understand-bible-from-workman-approved.html

*** Please see the detail and background on the Kingdom of Heaven and The Kingdom of God, which as you'll see in my Blog about Reproving Dr. Woods, the context here is Kingdom of God refers to the SPIRITUAL KINGDOM not the PHYSICAL KINGDOM which will happen in the Millenial Reign.

https://www.thethirdheaventraveler.com/2018/10/reproving-dr-andrew-woods-case-study-in.html

HERMENEUTICS:

CONTEXT: LUKE 17:20,21: Jesus has just been asked by the Pharisees WHEN will the Kingdom of God COME - referring to the PHYSICAL KINGDOM but using the language of the SPIRITUAL (Kingdom of God is mostly spiritual throughout the New Testament whereas Kingdom of Heaven is the coming Physical Kingdom. There are exceptions in context. See the study to Dr. Woods.). JESUS RESPONDS THAT THE SPIRITUAL KINGDOM IS INSIDE OF THEIR SOUL - KNOWLEDGE - MIND. Romans 1:18-20 are very clear this is the case.

EXEGESIS: We know in Context the word WITHIN used as a PREPOSITION (see how the preposition works and its function in the how to study the Bible) in the 3rd PERSON PRESENT INDICATIVE (see the significance of the the VERB BE in this tense used with the preposition WITHIN to means INSIDE OF THE PERSON's SOUL - MIND as revealed from the Spirit's CONSCIENCE and INTUITION. Since they are of their father the Devil and the TRUTH - JESUS CHRIST - is NOT IN THEM meaning their SPIRIT is DEAD UNREGENERATED. They will not respond to SALVATION to ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM - INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE Luke 18 = SALVATION. INHERIT THE KINGDOM of course one must be SAVED but inheriting the KINGDOM is not the act of soteriology but rather GATHERING OR COMING INTO POSSESSION of what one has been divinely assigned as a portion. ECCL 4:14. Andy Woods is so outrageously ignorant and believes the sheeple that follow him do not STUDY God's word that he can get by with his absurd notion that IF Jesus meant the Kingdom of God was in their midst referring to himself in the Physical and Spiritual that would mean the entire meaning of the word KINGDOM (realm) means that Jesus is NOT the King but rather the REALM or DOMAIN of what he RULES.

HARMONIZE SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE:

Here we go: Luke 17:21 WITHIN Strongs G1787 harmonizes perfectly with Matthew 23:36 WITHIN G1787 The ONLY 2 uses of WITHIN in the N.T.

IF you read Luke 17:21 in CONTEXT with the true meaning of WITHIN and NOT among or in in the midst OF it matches perfectly with Matthew 23:36 WITHIN. Let's compare:

Mat 23:26

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that

which is within G1787 the

cup and platter,

that the outside of them may be clean also.

Luk 17:21

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the

kingdom of God is within G1787 yo

Question? Why didn't the King James translators use WITHIN and NOT AMONG? Because the Pharisees had to clean inside first before the outside is clean and they have the knowledge of the KINGDOM but they don't recognize it but are looking for something on the OUTSIDE that needs to get resolved inside FIRST.

Now continuing in Harmonizing Scripture with Scripture LET'S look at the word IN THE MIDST OF

Luke 4:30chapter context similar meaning copy save

But he passing through the midst G3319 of them went his way,

Matthew 18:20chapter context similar meaning copy save

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst G3319 of them.

Now let's examine AMONG THEM

2 Peter 2:8

“(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)”

King James Version (KJV)

Let's look at John 12:35

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Doctrine is: Learning The Teaching of the Word of God (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

STUDY TO SHEW THYSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD

A WORKMAN THAT NEEDETH NOT BE ASHAMED

BY RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH

When we understand that doctrine in the context of God's Word literally

means all of His word >2 Timothy 3:16 KJB > taught from the great teacher himself - Jesus Christ through His Spirit living IN us teaching us and guiding us in all truth > John 16:13 , we learn and teach the truth = Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 3:17 and 4:1-4 applies and helps to read together with 2 Timothy 3:16 KJB .

So all perverted bibles will agree that their words are inspired but God has a sense of humor because when you get to Psalm 12:6,7 the wheels fall off. The New King James exposes itself as a fraud when it is compared to the King James in 2 Timothy 2;15.

Deuteronomy 32:2

“My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:”

King James Version (KJV)

* See Law of First Mention in Notes below

The Hebrew word for DOCTRINE in Deuteronomy 32:2 KJB is leqach leh' kakh learning, teaching, insight. instruction. Strongs H3948 from root H3947 meaning that which is received mentally (instruction) taken hold of, seized, accepted.

3948. leqach 9 X in the KJB In the sense of being received, learning speech. Could it be said that when God speaks we have received and then must learn.

Look at this strange definition for doctrine found in the Oxford English dictionary page 2271 for "precept": "To seize beforehand." * See Precept meaning extended.

This is harmonized with the Hebrew word leqach Strongs 3948 meaning "being received," being is a gerund verb tense meaning it "continuous" non ending. This is harmonized with Psalm 118:89, 119:52, and certainly here in 1 Peter 1:25 KJB:
1 Peter 1:25

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”

Man's philosophy teaches that there is a list of doctrine with only a few essential elements including TRINITY, The Divinity of Jesus (even though Trinity demotes Jesus to the 2nd Person), Salvation with conditions, even though most Protestant Religions say it is by Grace and of course the "other" so called Christian religions have their beloved and hallowed CREEDS that politely add conditions onto grace.

Smoking out Missionary Spencer Smith who is always telling us that "Doctrine Matters."

https://youtu.be/JPCfC2R0l38

We've heard it thousands of times. All false religion (doesn't matter if its Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Evangelical,) have their sacred cow doctrines labeled as creeds (Nicaean Creed, example) which is nothing more than the "tradition of man based on vain philosophy and NOT after Christ. Colossians 2:8 KJB.

Examples: The doctrine of the Trinity, The doctrine of Predestination, The doctrine of Soteriology (Salvation). The Doctrine of Balaam. * See comment in notes below about the NICOLAITANS and the Doctrine of Balaam.

AS

The NICOLAIATANS use doctrine.

Revelation 2:14,15 KJB:

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

15So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Doctrine of Balaam using RELIGION in a self styled DOCTRINE and call it God's Word. Doctrine of the Nicolaitans who place people under the BONDAGE of RELIGION using a series of creeds, codes and church rules.

A SYSTEM, supported by a “doctrine,” accompanied by the boasts of a prophetic illumination” (p.449 taken from Joseph Smith dictionary the founder of Later Saints - Mormons - the King Daddy of Cult RELIGION and of the modern day NICOLAIATANS - the pot calling the kettle black.

quote from the Mormon Latter day Saints on Doctrine: Note: Mormons are listed as Christians. They call themselves Christian and so do Catholics and Baptists call themselves Christian - adding their Religion along with the term Christian.

"Obedience to God will help you soar... Why do we have so many rules? Well, we call them “commandments,” and you probably know 10 of them. But we have a few more that come from modern revelation—God speaking today through a living prophet. Some rules may seem strict, but God is just looking out for us. For example, Latter-day Saints avoid alcohol and drugs. Choice is a big part of God’s plan, so we try not to do anything that would inhibit our decision-making ability or lead to addiction."

Apologetics research resources on religious cults and sects - A Biblical Guide To Orthodoxy And Heresy (apologeticsindex.org)

The orthodox principle. I call this principle the "orthodox" principle because it will be especially agreeable to Christians in the Orthodox (Eastern) tradition. According to this principle,

the creeds of the undivided church should be regarded as reliable expressions of the essential truths on which they speak.

This principle follows from the biblical teaching that the Christian faith was delivered once for all to the saints (Jude 3) and that the gates of Hades would not prevail against the church (Matt. 16:18). These texts (see also Matt. 28:20; John 14:16; Eph. 4:11-16) make it inconceivable that the whole church could establish as normative what is in fact aberrant or heretical.

Thus, the creeds formulated by the early church before it split into Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism, and accepted by all three branches of Christianity, should be regarded as reliable standards by which heresies may be exposed. Such creeds as the Nicene and Chalcedonian Creeds — which speak of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one God (the Trinity), and of Jesus Christ as uniquely God and man (the Incarnation) — expressed the faith of all Christians when they were written, and have unified all Christians against heresy for centuries. They are therefore deserving of respect and should be honored as tools for identifying and exposing heresy." End Quote.

Study on Paul's Thorn in the Flesh by Jon Lutz (thethirdheaventraveler.com)

As far as suffering in our SOUL THE BEST Example would be Paul again in

His Epistle to the Romans when he begins his literary interlude to address the Jewish Remnant that will suffer during the Tribulation. We read in Romans 9 verses 1 through 7:

I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

2

That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

4

Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5

Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called

The MIND of Christ

As Brother Charlie stated in one of our Bible Studies: “ Our reasonable service to the Lord is our service to the Lord with our mind renewed BY THE WORD OF GOD SO THAT WE MAY BETTER UNDERSTAND THAT WHICH IS GOOD, REASONABLE, AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD. “

Romans 12:2

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

King James Version (KJV)

Let’s look deeper into this:

Philippians 2:5

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

King James Version (KJV)
Philippians 2:7

“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

King James Version (KJV)

REASONABLE SERVICE

Romans Chapter 6

1

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Verse 3 BAPTIZED

3

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Read 1 Corinthians 15:29 baptized and conformed to his suffering; this passage brings to mind the account in the gospels of Matthew 20:20-23 and Mark 10:35-40 that records a conversation between James, John (the sons of Zebedee) and their mother:

[Mat 20:20-23 KJV] 20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping [him], and desiring a certain thing of him. 21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. 23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but [it shall be given to them] for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Think about what the Lord Jesus is telling James and John, THEY WILL INDEED SUFFER THE THINGS THAT JESUS SUFFERED; it is the baptism of suffering. This suffering is one of many BLESSINGS, indeed, PRIVILEGES OF REASONABLE SERVICE. This is something that is virtually unheard of among Christians. It is my conviction that we must learn to condition our minds to suffer for the Lord Jesus, we have the inspired words of the apostle Paul as exhortation and encouragement: Gal 6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

What, then, is Paul teaching us in 1Cor 15:29? He was exhorting the Corinthian Christians to endure the baptism of suffering at the hands of “the dead” (lost, unsaved people are DEAD)( See Eph 2:1; Col 2:13 as references). Lost sinners, dead in trespasses and sins, will persecute and revile those who are giving them the gospel. BUT the ones who choose to believe the gospel are raised to new life in Christ Jesus! They are raised from the dead.

Brother James shares excruciating experiences in his profession that are literal demonic manifestations from individuals under his care. Today as I was preparing this study he shared how he must be go toe to toe with these mind numbing encounters and it is only through God’s amazing Grace is he able to prevail at his advanced age and challenging health issues. This is a perfect example of BAPTISM THAT PAUL DESCRIBES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

REMEMBER JESUS SAID John 13:16 KJV: Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

PAUL SAID: IF WE SUFFER with HIM we will RULE WITH HIM 2 Timothy 12:2 KJB

ACCEPTABLE

Note: THE ONLY WAY WE ARE ACCEPTABLE IS BY AND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST “anything else” is SELF RIGHTEOUS WORKS OF THE FLESH. What is the best scripture here?

Ephesians 5:8-10 KJV - For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Ephesians 5:11-21 KJV - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

How do we condition our minds, then? How can we pitiful, weak, sinful people ever hope to accomplish anything close to what some have suffered and are suffering?

I believe an element of this is to encourage ourselves and each other with the truth of the scriptures which state uncompromisingly that our sinful flesh is circumcised from our soul/spirit. (Colossians 2:10-11) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in Baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

We must understand that we are a new creature in Christ Jesus, (2Co 5:17) because of the OPERATION OF GOD, it’s one of countless miracles that God performs in the moment we believe the gospel! Encourage one another with the scriptures above (Eph 5:8-10). When no one is there to encourage you, SPEAK TO YOURSELF: Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord:

When we do these things, who/what are we speaking to? OUR SOUL/MIND REASONING WITHIN OURSELVES THOSE THINGS THAT ARE TRUE.
Psalms 19:14

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”

King James Version (KJV)

Here we see clearly that it is the MIND - THOUGHTS (faculty of the SOUL referred to as heart) that produces the right words that are acceptable to the Lord.

How do we know the Spirit of God

1 Spirit one BODY OF Christ

1 Corinthians 12:12

Paul was giving an illustration to the Corinthians, as he was defining One body, but many members, in 1 Corinthians 12:12.

Read verse 13 also with this. Also, check out 1 Corinthians 2:12. the number 12 means divine government: Check this out: (12:12) and again in 2 (witness) with 12 . I've read 1 Corinthians 12:12 hundreds of times and here again this morning I find a deeper insight. It's truly amazing how the body of Christ functions in the same manner as God himself in the GODHEAD. High Math here.
