The Anointing Breaks the YOKE

 

Isaiah 10:27

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

King James Version (KJV)



Understanding Isaiah 10:27 is the context of the liberation of Israel from the Assyrian empire, symbolizing the removal of oppression and the restoration of freedom.

 However, in a deeper sense, we understand that Isaiah is a foreshadowing of the ultimate deliverance and liberation that will occur during the Millennial Kingdom, when Jesus Christ reigns.


The "yoke" being destroyed can be seen as representative of the final overthrow of all forms of oppression and the establishment of God's perfect kingdom.

And let's consider the importance in our daily lives as Saints.

For now, dear Saint, the Anointing is under attack. During this realm we battle continually in this SPIRITUAL WARFARE knowing the suffering endures for only the night and we must understand that it is knowing the PATIENCE of Jesus Christ is how we INHERIT the Kingdom.

Holy Spirit fills, covers inhabits, dwells within the individual.



1 Samuel 16:13 KJV: "Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah."

This moment is significant as it marks the anointing of David, signifying God's choice of him as the future king of Israel. The act of pouring oil over David symbolizes the Holy Spirit coming upon him, empowering him for the role he was to fulfill.

David was anointed by Samuel around 1025 BC when he was about 10-12 years old. He became the king of Judah at the age of 30 (around 995 BC) and was later crowned as the king over all Israel about 7 years later, around 988 BC.

So, it took approximately 15 years from his anointing to his crowning as king over all Israel.


30 years approximately the ministry of Jesus Christ as the Son of Man on earth he created IN this world but not OF this world. Came not as RULER but as a SERVANT.

The 30 years from when David was anointed as King of Israel to the day he was crowned as King was 30 years.  This is a powerful example for us to realize we are NOW Priests and Kings with Jesus Christ spiritually but our suffering and battles are as REAL and SIGNIFICANT as they were for David.  



Saul tried to kill David multiple times. According to the Bible, there are at least 12 recorded attempts by Saul to kill David. These attempts are spread across several chapters in 1 Samuel, including:

1 Samuel 18:11: Saul throws a spear at David.


1 Samuel 19:1: Saul orders his servants to kill David.


1 Samuel 19:10: Saul attempts to kill David with a spear again.


1 Samuel 20: Saul continues to seek David's life.


1 Samuel 22: Saul kills Ahimelech and his father's household.


1 Samuel 26: Saul seeks David again in Ziph.

These repeated attempts highlight Saul's intense jealousy and paranoia towards David, who was chosen by God to be his successor.



David's children had tumultuous relationships with him, leading to attempts to seize the throne or cause harm. Here are the key instances:
Absalom

2 Samuel 15-18: Absalom, David's son, led a rebellion against his father, attempting to overthrow him and take the throne. This resulted in a civil war, and ultimately, Absalom was killed by Joab, one of David's commanders.
Adonijah

1 Kings 1-2: Adonijah, another son of David, declared himself king as David lay on his deathbed. 

However, David had promised the throne to Solomon. With the support of Bathsheba and Nathan the prophet, Solomon was declared king, and Adonijah's attempt was thwarted. Later, Adonijah was executed by Solomon after he continued to pose a threat.
