Judas Goat leading the Sheep to Slaughter
"A Judas goat is a trained goat used at a slaughterhouse and in general animal herding. The Judas goat is trained to associate with sheep or cattle, leading them to a specific destination. In stockyards, a Judas goat will lead sheep to slaughter, while its own life is spared. Judas goats are also used to lead other animals to specific pens and onto trucks. They have fallen out of use in recent times, and in fact are now illegal in the European Union[1] but can still be found in various smaller slaughterhouses in the rest of the world.

The Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Truth has led me deeper into the study of goats and sheep. Refer to my blog Separating His Sheep from the Goats. There are two kinds of sheep: Those Sheep who are in the fold who have been gathered in God's arms and are saved by His great grace through Jesus Christ and the second type of sheep are the lost sheep who God seeks and will bring into the fold before the end judgement. Even though there are two kinds of Sheep they are still God's (His chosen Sheep). But there's only one kind of goat and these are "the goats".
God's sheep in the fold hear his voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow, they will flee. (John 10:5). They will not follow the goats who belong to Satan. But, unfortunately, the lost sheep are running around following the goats to the slaughter. By God's great grace we've been spared, delivered from the mouth of the lion and run away from the goats. This however, should quicken our hearts, stir us to seek after the lost. "" All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:6).
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus help us to hear your voice and not listen to or follow the voice of a stranger. We pray for the lost sheep wandering aimlessly, helplessly around following after vanity. May they soon be brought home safely into the fold. Use us to do your biding to bring them back. We pray, Amen.
Very interesting post. I have never heard of a Judas Goat before. I have heard of a scapegoat.

I have met all kinds of false pastors and false Christians and listening to them talk did not bear witness with my spirit--they usually grieved my spirit. The more we die to self, the more spiritually in tune we become and the more deep we get in our walk with the Lord--and this is what protects us from false Christians. If Christians don't want to take up their cross and follow the Lord, they will be led astray by false Christians--goats.

ReplyDelete.... and Isaiah 53:6 "And We ALL, as lost sheep have gone astray... and Ps 119:176: "I like a lost sheep have gone astray." These are referring beyond the 10 tribes.
ReplyDeleteVery true: Todays Judas Goats would be the Bishop Shelby Spong types who teach how to dismantle true bible believing churches. His book, "Why Christianity Must Change or Die" promotes all other religions to adopt the term "Christian", this includes universalists, Buddha followers, witches etc. His book shows how to ridicule and scorn the "Christian" in the public light to silence and sensor Bible believers.
