Head Knowledge without Spiritual Understanding Brings Condemnation

I heard someone say, "the more you know, the less you need." Knowledge puffs up.(1 Cor. 8:1) If I know too much I don't need much if anything. I think knowledge here refers to fleshly knowledge. The more head knowledge we gain the more puffed up we get. The danger is in learning or gaining knowledge of Christ is we tend to want to gain head knowledge and forget that this is a terrible pit fall. This is what happens with Bible Theologians and Scholars MUCH TOO OFTEN... I've seen this through first hand experience while watching my own son go from simple loving child like faith to a fundamentalist and legalistic. He's grown hard, cold, cynical, and judgmental and calloused. I'm interceding for him in prayer daily.. For now only God through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit can turn his heart back to child like faith.

We MUST know that knowing Christ is about Spiritual knowledge NOT fleshly knowledge. HEART and SPIRIT vs HEAD AND MIND. I'm NOT putting down or demeaning book learning and head knowledge. The apostle Paul was a brilliant scholar and he needed this knowledge. But first let's not put the cart before the horse... Let's learn and increase our knowledge by the Spirit and then the Mind can follow. Which leads me to understand and appreciate Romans 8:1: "There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. "When we walk in the flesh (and there are probably literally tens of thousands of "things" that are 'flesh'; eg: self-pity, self- awareness training, self-improvement..self, self self.. (refer to Watchman Nee's: "Spiritual Man") we are condemned. The definition of condemned is: to have been found guilty and punished.

Very interesting when researching this word I find that it is actually 3 fold. 1.The condemned person has done or said something that is disapproved by the prevailing LAW. 2. The condemned person has been found guilty (sentenced). 3. The condemned person is/ has been punished. LITERALLY... tried, found guilty, and hung all at once. WOW! Basically we fall out of GRACE (free gift of God through Jesus Christ to break free of the LAW).. AND we come under the LAW and no man can stand under the law for we are all guilty..All of us are condemned (Romans 5:18); until we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are born again. When we are born again we are no longer under the law in the flesh but in the spirit. John 3: 3,6,7,8......VERILY IS SAY, EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN AGAIN, HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD. THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE FLESH IS FLESH; AND THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT. THE WIND BLOWS WHERE IT WILL AND THOU HEARS THE SOUND, BUT YOU CAN'T TELL WHERE IT COMES AND WHERE IT GOES, SO IS EVERY ONE THAT IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT."In summary: LET'S LEARN IN THE SPIRIT - the Holy Spirit working in our lives, through our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, to God be the glory forever and ever Amen.
