Surrendering to God's Will





In his wonderful book, "My Utmost For His Highest" Oswald Chambers describes our greatest crisis in life is surrendering our will to God. And further he statesMy Utmost for His Highest: Updated Edition (OSWALD CHAMBERS LIBRARY)Whatever is causing us a sense of uncertainty is actually a call to our will - "Come to Me" (Come to me and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).The Holy Bible: New International VersionI sense my uncertainty on making the necessary changes in my life stems from holding onto my own will over God's will in my life. Based on my experience in life every time there has not been peace in my life I've been demanding my own way of doing things and had refused to let go and let God. I can understand where my uncertainty comes from trying to find certainty in life instead of accepting uncertainty. As my blog about Certainty in the midst of Uncertainty discusses in depth, once again I've found "My Utmost For His Highest" is a wonderful reference whereas Oswald Chambers states, "The Nature of the Spiritual Life is that We Are Certain in our Uncertainty."
